Thanks for letting me know about the Spain training camp, but unfortunately I've already run out of leave for this year! :o( Maybe next time. See you at training....
Hi Laura, I confirm that I will be coming tonight, and have changed my RSVP on the event to 'attending'. And I renewed my 2011 membership last week. I got a confirmation email from Liz. See you this evening. Cheers, Derek :>
Hey - thanks for prompt. Looks amazing - but already have a sculling training holiday in my sights in August - not sure if I can justify 2 in a year!
Let me know if you want to follow up on the ladies descent training - with Jon, or there's a good women's bike forum where they might have some suggestions.
I had a chat with Stuart this weekend about the course and am really interested. If you can call me on 07751 696 159 tongiht to run me through the specifics, that would be great
I can confirm that i am available on the 27th Feb and 19th March and would consider the BTF qualification. i would prefer to speak on the phone or at a session before i fully commited. Are you going to be at any of the upcoming sessions next week?
Thanks
Alex
Have started alternating wednesdays with a training ride with the cycling club, so will be there this week. C (PS for the record I was at the 90minute stonker 2 weeks ago!)
SWIM: The start will be in waves again this year. It's quite a narrow start line, so if you're not too confident I'd hang back a bit and let the 'fighting' go on ahead of you. As you exit the swim, you have to climb up a big set of blue stairs to run into T1.
BIKE: It's a very flat course so it's nice and quick. It's an out and back with a loop repeated at the top. The only real thing to be aware of is that there are about 15-20 sets of rail tracks that cut across your path. All of them have rubber mats and bright red cones over them, so you cant miss them and they stop your wheels getting caught in the rail lines. Just take care going over these mats especially if it's raining and they're wet. They can get very slippy. Also Just keep an eye on others around you as you go over them, they only really fit one bike at a time.
It can be a bit bumpy going over them too so make sure your bottles and spares are tightly stowed away or else they'll pop out.
RUN: The transition is an odd one, as it's split over two sites, so you're running kit will all be in your T2 bag next to a railing and your corresponding number in the second of the two sites. Lean your bike against your numbered railing, put your running kit on and off you go. It's 3 laps of another very flat and fun run course.
Hope that helps and if you have any other questions just give me a shout.

Yey! I have a friend! :-)
Hi Laura,
Sadly I will be moving out of the area so cannot take the club up on the BTF qualification offer.
Many thanks,
Luke
I'll be there again year as well.
