For anyone who hasn't done it, Hell of the Ashdown (HOTA) is a brilliant beginning of the season sportive over all your favourite Kent hills. It's a great kick up the bum to get you back into training after the winter (...I mean, to congratulate yourself  on how well you did keeping the training up through the winter). It's really well organised by a local club and has lots and lots of cake. There's a different route and start point to check out this year.

Anyway, get your fingers on your buzzers because the entries open at 21:30 on 5th November 2015, and last year all the places went within about 24 hours.

(You have to put a start time, I think normally Windrushers start fairly near the beginning, but they're usually fairly flexible on the day).

wow, in an unheard of development, i think i've got the earliest start! i went for 9.15.

cake will probably mean i still finish later than you all tho.

10.02 for me and Lois

Thanks for the heads up. I'm signed up for 9.34.

Note the new starting place this year - a bit further out than the old one - at Combe Bank School between Westerham and Sevenoaks.

I usually ride out to the start but maybe I will take the car this time. Just a bit too far for comfort.

If you do take the car, any chance of a lift out there please if I can get to yours or the lido?

We were chatting about this on Sunday and I'd really like to give it a go but it is full. What are the chances of tagging along? Worth email the organisers do you think? C

I don't think they can stop you ghost riding it Colin, given it is held on open public roads, but they would certainly wouldn't want you to scoff the jafffa cakes at the aid stations!

Certainly Claire. I will be leaving Peckham at 8am to get to Coomb Bank School around 9am.

I'll email the organisers and see if I can get a legit place - failing that I can always pack some jaffa's and a flask of coffee

Charles would it be possible to jump in with you as well?

Sure Jake. I can take three passengers plus bikes: so far it is you and Claire.

Awesome thanks Charles
