Speaking with people who regularly attend JAGs on a friday I think that there is a strong demand to continue these sessions. They have been quite popular all year so far. I am not sure how viable this would be, but weirdly I find Friday evenings a great time for a swim session. I'm sure Audrey said she would be happy continuing to coach.

We've got around 6-8 people saying they're happy to prepay, I'm afraid that's not enough to justify running the sessions.

Extending the deadline one more time, if we get the full 12 (or a combination that adds up to 12 x 8 sessions) by Thursday 12th then we'll go ahead. Please note that as we've missed the first deadline this would be to start the following week (Fri 20th) when Audrey is back (I hope (cant confirm yet) that the lane would be booked from Fri 13th so you could use the lanes for an uncoached session on the 13th. I'll let you know payment details if we get the full number signed up.

I am keen and will prepay

This seems like a fair option. I cannot commit to a full 8 weeks but would prepay 4 sessions if that helps at all?

The St Joseph's swim was primarily aimed at the juniors when we started it Paul.

The idea of allowing adult members to use the pool (we hire the whole pool although juniors only use two or three lanes) was to increase participation among target demographics within the club ie parents with childcare responsibilities who can swim at the same time as their children are being coached.

The same does not apply to JAGS - it's a session aimed only at adult members.

And Lucy's problem is we now have swimming on Tuesday am at Clapham, then two Lido sessions coached on Monday and Thursday, a junior coached session in the Lido on Wednesday and then a free lane on Saturday am and the use of St Joseph's while juniors are being coached - it all costs money and she has to find coaches as well for many of these sessions.

Friday sessions have been great with Audrey - I know I have really enjoyed them over the past few years but it is not unreasonable to ask people to precommit when we have so many swim sessions over the summer...once my shoulder has healed I'd be happy to precommit but that might not be till August.

In the meantime could we just have a bit of friendly support for Lucy in trying to sort this out?

It's not an easy puzzle to solve but if people really want the session then precommitment seems a reasonable request to me with all the other swimming going on?

St Josephs swim is being run with alot less than 12

Hi - happy to prepay for half the sessions if that helps (we are away for half). Also happy to coach Friday gratis if that helps too.
Paul thanks for your point. Initially Sunday swim was running at a minor loss. But now with over 25 kids prepaying a term in advance and around 6 families and windrushers paying to swim for £5 junior swim breaks even.

i am happy to pre pay

Hi guys,

Really sorry, but unless there's a late flurry tonight we didn't meet the numbers necessary to go ahead with this session. It's a real shame but we were short of the numbers we needed to ensure the session ran with an acceptable level of loss. I hope that you will be able to make it to the other swim sessions (Lido Monday and Thursday eve) and Tuesday am. Thanks for the feedback, we are listening, and I'll make sure that I get feedback ahead of developing the winter timetable.

Lucy

Hello Friday night swimmers

I have spoken to JAGS and they have agreed the following:-

1 lane from 8.15-9.15pm on the following Fridays

27th May, 3rd, 10th, 17th and 25th June.

Please note that I will running this as a private venture and not part of the current windrush training schedule. In order for all 5 sessions to proceed I would need a £12.50 non-refundable deposit per person to cover the cost of lane hire for 5 weeks. I would need a minimum of 6 swimmers (8 max) to attend each week at a cost of £9 per person.

If you are all still interested the please let me know by end of play on Wednesday 18th May as i will need to get back to JAGS and to sort out a payment system.

Regards

Audrey

I'm in Audrey. I couldn't do the 27th, but could attend all the rest.
Hi Audrey,

I can't make the 27th but I would try and make all others. Thanks for looking into this for us.

David

I can do four of these dates but I think the cost is probably a bit much for me. Thanks for looking into it Audrey.

I'm well up for this. Thanks for sorting this out!
