Would anyone be able to reccommend aero bars for a road bike for a novice/beginner (me).  Nothing flash but suitable for longer distances.  Also if anyone is selling a used one that is in reasonable condition I might be interested. Thank you.

Hi Korkoi - Deda Parabolica Uno is a good choice for beginners but they're out of stock on Wiggle at the moment:

Might be able to find them elsewhere for a similar price? Would definitely go for the Uno version, not Zero or Due as these will put more strain on your wrists over long distances.

And Korkoi I just happen to have some very like those Rob mentioned which you can borrow if you want as errr quite a long list of people would play war with me if I used them anytime soon...

Thing is they do take some getting used to and they tend to throw out your body position - it helps to get someone to help sort out your bike set up at the same time.

You also need to be careful about cycling on aero bars around town - frankly I don't think it is very safe.

But if it would help happy to lend them to you and show you how to put them on. Just give me a shout

Thank you Rob - this is really helpful.

Thank you Tony.  This is very generous of you.  I would take you up on the offer if still ok.  Will you be going to the Lido anytime soon? I live very close by so but flexible either way.

Am planning on making an appearance on Saturday morning - to at least eat cake as I can't swim at the moment :-)

I'll bring the aerobars if you can make it?

Hi Tony - sorry for the late reply.  Couldn't get on to the page this afternoon.  I will do the Park Run so can either see you outside the Lido at by the cake in the cafe sometime after the running?
