Weather is due to be cold and sunny again tomorrow, after a frosty start. I have a yen to see the English Channel gleaming silver in the winter sunshine and will be riding down to Brighton.

I'll be leaving Cadence at 9am and going at a medium pace via Turners Hill and Ditchling, should get to Brighton at around 1pm. Lunch there or back in Ditchling (Dolly's Pantry) after heading north again over the Downs, then train back to London from Haywards Heath. Dig out your winter gloves/Windrush snood and join me if you want a longish winter ride (c 130km) or peel off at Brighton if you want to cut it a bit short.

Isn't he riding there so he can take a dip in the sea?

Just cancelled a hair cut so I can join you Charles! Looks like it'll be a beautiful day for a ride down to Brighton (and back!)

Excellent. I look forward to riding with you Elly.

I'm in. See you at Cadence.

Make sure Charles does not try to cut out the slice of cake in Dollies whatever happens

So glad we got this ride in yesterday... Wouldn't have survived the bike today! Thanks for another beautiful winters cycle Charles and Tom!

Glad to see Tom properly wrapped up this time!

Elly had the right idea coming on her mountain bike (seen here posing in a snow drift near Woldingham). One of my pedals cracked so we never made it back over Ditchling Beacon to Dolly's. Next time eh?
