This three day event held over the second May bank holiday weekend is brilliant for getting stronger on the bike. You start at the same base each day, with loops north to Cheddar Gorge, south to the Jurassic coast and west to Exmoor on the three days. Total distance is 322 miles or 224 miles if you opt for shorter distance rides each day. You can camp near the base village or find a B and B locally. Yes it's hilly, scenic and tough, and the best multi-day cycle event for non-pros in the UK. Deborah and I are thinking of doing it; anyone else interested?

So at the moment we have Deborah, myself, Russell, Elly and Saffron doing the three days, Paul W doing the Sunday only and Frank and Emily down as a maybes.

Options are to camp at Russ's friend's place (waiting to hear back from Russ whether we can use kitchen and living room in house, or just the bathroom), or the medieval barn. There is a two bed annex we may be able to rent with the barn so that more people can stay.

Deborah has given a definite niet to camping, so she and I will be staying in the Ancient Barn. I can book the Bee House annex for two others if anyone else doing the Tour of Wessex wants comfort/warmth/gorgeous surroundings when not on their bikes.

As far as I know Russell is planning to camp at his mate's house and will be feeding various animals in return. There is space for other tents and a small kitchen/bathroom available for all happy campers to use.

It would be good to know who is planning to come and where they want to stay so that we can finalise numbers.

( Maybe ) only maybe !! Im a little up in the air myself ( might camp, might stay with Family in Devon. ) I do have a tent that could sleep a few people with kit and still have room. If there are any takers on the camping ?

Thanks Charles, I'm a definite. Camping option for me please!

Hi! I'm a bit behind with this.. could I join too please and camp if it's not too late...?! :)

Hi guys, I'll be there, working for most of it at the Haute Route stand but I hope to ride one of the days.

Hope to see you there, do share your dinner plans!

Beth

That's great Beth. I'll probably ride the Saturday and Monday, and take the Sunday off. Why not PM me your phone number so that we can get in touch re dinner plans etc.

Hannah, I am sure there is room to camp at Russ's farm.
