Capital Tri - The Fix Splash #1 - Sunday 21 May

Hello Windies,

If anyone is doing or would like to do the Splash races organised by Capital Tri at West Reservoir this Sunday I am driving from Herne Hill / Lordship Lane with space for another couple of people in the automobile.

http://capitaltri.com/events

750m / 1500m / 3000m options (750m loop)

As a slow and steady swimmer I have been 'rewarded' with an early wave so need to leave by about 6am. Water was 15 degrees last Sunday and felt OK with a wetsuit and double swim cap.

They have more of these races usually in July and Sept if you can't make this one.

Thanks,
Hayley

It would be easier for me to jump up on the tube from Tooting and meet anyone at Finsbury Park.  As Tony nmentions I do have a blue badge which I'm also happy to bring along.   Glad I'm not the only one thinking this is insanely early especially for a Sunday

I'm definitely going to drive - can pick up from the Lido / Herne Hill / Lordship Lane at 5.45 then swiftly north to the venue. DM me if you'd like a lift and we'll swap numbers as I'm not always checking the site. Early night for us on Sat :)

What is your start time Haren? I can see you on the BTF entry site but not the event start times on the CapitalTri page

I'm happy either way if someone was driving from near Brixton tube and had a spare seat then I'd love to jump in. Last year I got the tube to Finsbury Park and changed to get to Manor House. It was only a 10 min walk from there and a nice warm up. Can't believe it is such an early start.
Haren is definitely entered as the entry email came back but not in the Capital tri list hmmm

Will try to email tomorrow

Am thinking of driving up via Clapham - if anyone needs a lift let me know
8.20 wave 8 is H's start

Might be quite quick to get across to Stoke Newington at stupid o clock on a Sunday?

I think it will be fairly fast to drive there, but maybe not so on the way back. I guess we will still be reasonably early when we are done though. A 2nd breakfast spot is needs to be located however!

Right, have we agreed that we are driving then?

Im happy to drive but I think have three cars now...??? Myself, Margaret and Hayley. Im happy to jump into another car if we have enough spaces with two cars. Otherwise very happy to drive and I can pick up at Herne Hill and Brixton.I have space for 3 comfortably and 4 if you want to squish! But I don't think that is necessary given we have three cars being offered.

Shall we try and get this sorted?

Raya

Yes we really should get this sorted :-)

So my guess is we need to be there by 7.15 which working backwards means leaving Herne Hill about 6.30

But if someone wants a lift I'm happy to be a bit earlier

How about 6 at the Lido?

My head hurts working this out - before we get to actually swimming
OK so Tony is giving Haren and myself a lift. See you guys there at 6:30ish for the first wave team. Thanks Tony :-)

Have picked up on this discussion really late. I am still planning to drive and have 1 passenger so far. Let me know if anyone is missing a lift.

My race time is 7:05 so looks like I'll just grab a tube from Brixton.
