Event Description

Cost: £5.00 - Please make sure you pay the Windrush coach before the session begins.

Session limit: 20 Windrush attendees (we share the track with Crystal Palace) 

As well as the intro session, there is a normal velodrome session for those who are already confident.

Great session for building your bike fitness, handling and skills. Not many clubs get the use of a velodrome (the last surviving venue from the 1948 Olympics!) so take advantage! Joint session with Crystal Palace Triathletes.

*** If you are new to the Velodrome please let the Windrush coach know on arrival ***

Only road bikes allowed (no fixed wheel bikes without brakes). Helmets are compulsory. Cycle shorts and covered shoulders are recommended but not compulsory.

Please take care on entering the track, only cross when it is safe to do so. There are currently building works on site (developing new and improved facilities). Take care on way in and area behind the velodrome and ensure you have adequate lights, both to see any dangers and to be seen.

NB this session is fortnightly.There is also an uncoached public road bike session run by Crystal Palace Tri from 6-8pm every week. This is not a Windrush Club event but you are welcome to attend. You need to sign in with Crystal Palace Tri and pay their fee to access the uncoached session (and then if you want to do the Windrush coached session after you will need to pay the Windrush coach separately for that session). Please be respectful of CPT and don't come onto the track early for the coached session unless you've paid to be there.

To be guaranteed of a space please login and RSVP for the session (Tuesday 12pm is the cut-off for cancellations). If you cannot make a session please change your RSVP status to free up your place for someone else.

To check whether you are within the session limit, count the number signed up before you, starting from the bottom right corner.

Hi Becky, next time please can you post about the brick the day before for those of us that don't have time to go home between work and the velodrome? No brick for me tonight :( Thanks!

Bring your trainers so you can add in a quick hard brick at the end to get the legs used to the 'jelly' feeling!!
