Looking to upgrade wetsuit- one for sale and any advice on a new one

Hi swim fans

I have a Zone 3 wettie for sale, 3 years old and in good condition. I am only looking to upgrade because I am swimming more and more in it leading up to a 10KM swim. Its a great Entry level suit and has done me well up to an Olympic distance and lots of training.

It's a S/M, I am a size 8-10 and 5'6.

It's this but not so fancy on the colours! Open to offers. Hope to be at the lido Thursday if you want to see it or I live in East Dulwich.

So now the advice bit- want an upgrade to see if I can get a Wettie with a bit more flex on the shoulders. I'm finding that beyond 2km of swimming it's a bit stiff.

Would like to buy 2nd hand, so has anyone got anything, or is there any tips for a good priced long distance suit?

Thanks

Beth

Hi Beth, I've a Huub Aura and it's been awesome. Super thin and flexible around the shoulders. They don't make this one now but you can buy ex rental ones and sale ones still.

I really like Orca wetsuits and having done two seasons in a HUUB think the Orca suits are much better (with very flexible shoulders)

Was just reading a big review of womens wetsuits though and the Zone 3 Vnaquish sounds really good, if you already like your current zone 3 and just want to upgrade. The Zoot and Mako also have really thin arm material. (I should also just train more instead of reading about kit I don't intend to buy!)

I had an Orca before my Huub!! I guess a lot is down to how a certain style fits your body! I tried on a lot in Ocean Leisure (never a fun experience!). I'd suggest that to get a feel for what works for you maybe, even if you don't buy one right then.

Great thanks guys, I will focus on thin arm material I think and will take a look at the ones you recommend!

Might try and borrow one/loan one for the 5km swim in August, think some places do a season loan.

With all this swimming I might need to find a triathlon to sign up to :)

Hi Beth, I have a new (only worn once) small 2xu wetsuit I'm selling which may be perfect for you.
You are welcome to borrow it - let me know and I can bring it to one of the sessions. Attached is a pic
