I know it is early doors to be thinking about a training camp for next year, but following the successful Lanzarote camp in February, I want to guage interest in a similar camp next year at around the same time (thinking Sat Feb 24 to Sun March 4 which would give seven full training days). Club la Santa gets booked up very early so I will need to reserve apartments and swim lanes soon now. Thinking of three apartments/15 people again or four apartments/20 people max.

Let me know if you are interested.

Yes yes yes! Put me down! I loved it.

Hi Charles, I am interested! Thanks.

Yes I'd be up for this again! Loved it this year :-)

OK Lanza crew, we have 15 people expressing interest, including me. I have reserved 5 one bedroom flats (twin plus roll-out bed in living room) which will cost £360 per head for eight days (Feb 24 - March 4 2018). The fee includes use of most of the factilites and activities at Club la Santa such as pools, gymn and organised events. You pay extra for the Wellness Centre and some activities such as scuba diving, mountain biking or the dawn swim at Puerto del Carmen (ironman start) that some of us did this year.

Flights out and back on Easyjet are currently £108 return on those dates; taking a bike box will add £40 each way, so it is most likely cheaper to hire a bike at CLS. Transfers to and from the airport will probably be around £15 or £20.

CLS is a well-equioped sports holiday complex on the wild west coast of the island. The facilities include 3no olympic pools, running track and pretty much everything else you could wish for, sports-wise. Last year we did Windsurfing on the lagoon as a bit of light relief from tri-training.

The camp will be self-organised and there will be no coached sessions. We will have swimming lanes booked for early morning and late afternoon each day, and most days there will be one or more group rides of varying distance and speed; the isand is spectacular and riding there is a pleasure. The volcanic hills and constant wind make it a good place to get stronger on the bike. CLS organise events each week such as the mini-tri and ridge run, half marathon etc that Windrushers may want to enter.

The flats are self-catering but there are a number of restaurants on the site to choose from for the evening meal, and other good places to eat out a short taxi ride away. The island has some interesting places to visit, including the active volcano at Fire Mountain and the intriguing architectural projects of Cezar Manrique, embedded in the landscape. Last year we did a tour of these by bike. Other highlights from the trip this year included doing the ironman ride (for those doing long distances), wetsuits swims in the lagoon and runs in the desert landscape around the complex.

The camp suits all standards except absolute beginners but if you specifically want coached training sessions, you may prefer to go on the other camp with Tri Camp in Mallorca a bit later in the spring.

I will need to firm up the CLS bookings and take deposits in the coming weeks, so if you are not quite sure if this is for you, do talk to one of the Windrushers who went last year to get the low down.

This sounds great charles thank you!

Yep great thank yoooouuu!

I haven't previously signed up, but I would be interested, if the numbers work out.
Thanks for organising Charles!
Yay! Big hair:Little hair :-)

OK, Edward, you are currently number 16 on the list.

Can everyone who has expressed interest give it serious thought over the next week or so. I will need to firm up who is definitely coming by the end of July and then take deposits. It may be possible to secure another three person apartment if others want to come but CLS is already getting fully booked for next spring. 18 is the max number for the group as more than this becomes a bit of a nightmare to organise.
