Fancy a social run with a difference in our beautiful Brockwell Park this summer? Why not try an orienteering race on Tuesday 25th July organised by friend of Windrush Todd Fallesen, a member of the South London Orienteers? Choose between a short course of 2.5k or longer 5k course and spend your summer evening racing around the park with friends, followed by a beer in the Florence.

The aim of orienteering is to navigate around a number of control points marked on a specially drawn map in the quickest time possible. The challenge involves picking the best route and successfully navigating it as quickly as possible.

You'll get a map of Brockwell Park to help you find your way to up to 30 control points around the park, punch your cards, and then report back to the finish!

Registration starts at the Florence at 6.30pm and ends at 7.15pm. You'll be started between 6.30pm and 7.30pm (the officials keep a record of start times, of course!) Pay on arrival - no need to book in advance. £5 per person.

The event is posted here - sign up! http://clubhouse.windrushtri.co.uk/events/orienteering-park-race-in...

More info about orienteering is here http://slow.org.uk/about/orienteering/ and find out more about the race here http://slow.org.uk/events/brockwellpark/

Hi, I've found out more and amended the post above - registration starts at the Florence at 6.30pm and ends at 7.15pm. You'll need to register yourself though, as you'll need to be given a timing chip to wear. You'll be started between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. Also it's an individual event, not teams, although people can run together unofficially if they wish to. Hope this helps? x

I did these before I took up triathlon...its what made me able to run fast(ish)!! Highly recommend - especially as you all end in the pub after...

Please RSVP, maps are getting printed so would be good to know how many are planning on attending!

Should be lots of fun and a good way of interval training without realising it!
