The current Triathlon season is nearly over...but don't fear it's now time to start planning the winter season (think cross country and duathlons) and 2018 spring and summer season (think triathlon, ironman, swimrun and aquathlons or even aquabike!).

This year we will take your suggestions (post below) and take it to an online vote which will be held in October.

Why suggest? It is more fun to do races together - so the more Windrushers we can get to one event the bigger, better and more exciting it will be! Post as many as you like, but only suggest if you actually will attend that event (supporter or racer).

Suggestions deadline: 14th October

Vote deadline: 31st October

Just to mix it up, I'm suggesting AQUABIKE

The most appealing options seem to be:

Grafman (1.9km/90km) - 20th May. Swim is in the reservoir with an Australian exit and the bike is based in Cambridgeshire, so flat and fast bike times can be had. Camping potential and an easy train ride and short ride to the start.

Hever (1.9km/60km or 3.8km/120km) - 8th July. This will also be the GB age group middle distance triathlon national champs, so if we have people racing in that (or doing the long swims/marathons/ironman races on that day) we could link up. Great setting for racing, but a tough course.

I am in for Estonia.. Or Edinburgh.

I am going to suggest Breca Lake Buttermere Swimrun as it was awesome!

Maybe Ironman 70.3 in Estonia...

Just done the Ragnar Relay awesome! 10 people 2 vans and 170ish miles non stop through the night from Maidstone to Brighton (following the coast from Whistable) yes it's just running but it's one of the 3 disciplines :-)

Immortal Sprint+ at Stourhead is great. It's a single wave with a 1-lap cycle and run so you know you're racing everyone around you for position.

It's also a very sociable 17:00 start so can do there and back in 1 day. I'm already entered !

Continue supplying your great ideas!! 14th October is the deadline!!

How about running? There is a marathon / half-marathon / ultra-marathon at Bewl Water in May - it's a small event (< 500 people across all three distances last year), and the course is great - a mix of trails and country lanes.

Yeah looks good  !! Ive got a few months of focus on running as I have a place in the London Marathon next year, but I am planning to keep the running memento going in 2018 ( Subject to the usual injuries & repairs time I need along the journey!!  )

I'd be up for a few running races (not sure I'm ready for an ironman). An international marathon sounds good.

Paris Marathon sounds cool and/or http://www.transylvanianbearrace.com/

Arundel could be a good one for the standard club champs - mid-season, fairly close to London, campsite with a pub & a ridiculously lovely owner(!), and a great course (other than the killer hill on the run course!).

We did one of the Leybourne Lake sprint series races this year which was really convenient and fun - slightly dodgy cycle course along the A20 but otherwise a great swim and run, and it only took 35 mins to drive down there. Small, friendly, low key and faff-free - great for warm ups/non-pressurised practice runs! Plus there's a concrete shark under the water to spot for bonus points.
