Brighton Marathon 2018 club places available
All, great news, we have been contacted by Brighton who are looking to bolster their race with UK club runners for 2018.
For those who haven't run Brighton before I can highly recommend it. It has all the razzmatazz of a big City marathon - and is the UK's second largest with around 12,000 runners - but it has the massive advantages over London of a much more compact "footprint" of the course meaning it's much easier for your friends/spectathletes / loved ones to see you in a few places and meet at the finish for several pints on the beach!
We have 10 spaces available to fully paid up 2017 members who have a valid 2017-2018 UK Athletics EA registration.
If more than 10 people want a spot then we will look at criteria how most fairly to allocate them - perhaps by the number of marshalling or volunteering at club / Brockwell Parkrun events that people have done.
Price is £69.50.
Places can be deferred in the event of injury [albeit Brighton's policy is that an entry fee in 2019 will still apply for places deferred from 2019].
If we can have a show of hands on here, I will close this "ballot" on Dec 31st (as training should have begun in earnest by then !).

That’s a good question Rich and one I don't know the answer to.
Rob, do we take payment for the actual race? If so I'll create an item on the shop.

Once we have all of our club entries, I send those details to the organisers and they get in touch with you with your race entry link (to register and pay). Nobody with a club spot needs to worry. Those spots are safe. You just need to wait.
Colin no need to create anything for this on the shop.

Does anyone want my Paris marathon place, on April 8th, I signed up a while back, but decided against that amount of running without succeeding a swim and a bike ride. I'll be there for the wine instead.

I have emailed the Brighton organisers asking that the following people get a club spot:
Rhodri Harris, David Synott, Esther Stoakes, Tom Ward, Richard Draper, Milen Rachev and Angel Dossier.
The organisers will get in touch with you directly about registering for the event and paying for your place.
If you believe you should be on the list, let me know and I can email the organisers. Likewise, if you can no longer make this, let me know and I will email the organisers.

Update for those with a club spot. The organisers have said they will aim to send out invites to register today, so please keep an eye out and let me know if you don't receive anything in the next few days.
