Hever bike course recce Sunday 16 August 9am East Croydon station

This Sunday how about we do our first recce of the Hever bike course - I suggest we do two laps with the first easy paced so everyone gets the route and the second go for it at your own pace.

Then lunch in the pub before either hopping on the train back or cycle back.

We can't get the train all the way out (see Claire I checked all on my own) but we can get to Edenbridge and it's not far from there to the start at Hever

Suggest we meet on the platform to Edenbridge at 9am Sunday?

Ok Tony that's a good plan
Probably worth mentioning that we are talking laps of the Olympic bike course here - not the rather more er challenging gauntlet course :-)

I'd be up for giving this a go.

I would like to check out the gauntlet course while you are doing the olympic laps. If I do one loop to your two, we should finish around the same time.

Any other gauntlet people want to join me?

I'm not entered for the Hever triathlon but would be keen to join the ride anyway if that's ok? I'll probably ride to East Croydon from Gipsy Hill if anyone else is going the same way. Cheers, Nick

That's fine Nick - it's a really lovely area to cycle in anyway - assuming you dodge the gauntlet course that is ;-)

And actually the gauntlet course is pretty spectacular- so one lap of gauntlet should see you back at the pub opposite the Hever castle entrance at about the same time as us Charles
Massimo if you want to cycle out there either you could meet us at Edenbridge station about 10am and then you have a choice whether to go with Charles and Deborah round the longer course or if you want to try the Olympic course x2 you could meet us at Hever castle car park at about 10.30
Anne and I will cycle out with massimo and then join Charles to do the Gaunlet route and then die.

We can be at Hever by 1030. How long do you think it takes to get to Hever from CP?
You should be ok doing that Deborah - it's a bit like the Hell of the Ashdown course but I thought you were doing that half ironman distance course next weekend? Interesting taper ;-)

I am in for the Gauntlet route as long as Charles is gentle on me! See you at East Croydon.

I'll cycle out to Hever with you Deborah et al. Meet up outside Cadence at 8:45am? Then we can hook up with you Martyn at Hever 10:30am.

Planning to do the Gauntlet course at steady pace to see what it is like and whether better suited to TT or road bike.

I'm up for doing an Olympic recce! See you at East Croydon at 9.
