Would you like me to write you a 12 week training plan?

I am currently doing my level 3 British Triathlon Federation coaching qualification and part of the qualification includes working with a triathlete to write and deliver them a 12 week training plan, which forms part of a wider annual training plan.

I am therefore looking for volunteers who would like me to write a training plan for them.

What you’ll get:

  • A 12 week training plan, written specifically for you, for your goal race, with updates to the plan, as needed  
  • Ongoing coaching support 

What I’ll need from you:

  • You'll need to be entered for a triathlon race between June and September (ideally Olympic or Half Iron distance) and have wider annual training goals
  • A commitment to follow the 12 week plan which will involve the majority of your training being outside of club sessions
  • As anyone who has worked with BTF knows, they luuuurve their documentation. So I’ll need weekly written feedback from you on your training (brief summary of what you’ve done/not done from the plan, how it went etc).
  • Ideally we’ll use Training Peaks as this allows us to track the sessions easily and document all the feedback between us (no cost to you), but I’m open to other alternatives, but as a minimum you’ll need to be able to track and share the majority of your sessions (using a Garmin or similar).

Hi Lucy, what sort of level are you looking for? In any case, bringing this to the top, I'm sure there are people in the club that would benefit from 1 2 1 coaching and give you the support for your qualification in exchange I'd like to know if I'm suitable considering I'm a beginner, would you like to pm me to discuss?

good luck to the lucky winner! :) I signed up for training peaks as I was curious about this tool to analyse and plan my training, and realised that in order to get any training plan a purchase is required ...
Not knowing at all which one might be good and which one a rip off, do we have a Club Training plan that I could use? Or would you have any advice? I saw your Training Plan talk popping up, I guess this will be a good place to learn more about individualising the plan, but I would like to start with something to get some experience and an idea about it...

Yes the training plans on TP are paid for but even if you dont go for a plan, it's still a really useful tool to analyse your own training if you like that sort of thing. 

In terms of training plans, there's lots of coaches in the club who can write you a plan, I'll be sending details round shortly.

And we are currently scoping out producing a club training plan (that would run up to either the club 1/2 IM or Olympic race, more details to follow if that goes ahead). 

And then, yup, the talk on the 13th March should also be really useful if you want to plan your training yourself, or adapt one of the paid for, or free ones on the internet,
