Does anyone fancy riding London to Paris (Newhaven/Dieppe route) this year? Planning the above dates to coincide with the end of the Tour de France (and also I'm planning to then head off on a longer cycle tour for the next two weeks). The plan in a bit more detail:

Friday 21st July (leave from Big Ben at 4pm), ~90km down to Newhaven; ferry check-in 9.30-10.15pm sail at 11pm.

Saturday 22nd July, get kicked off the boat at 5am, ~180km to Paris (in 12 hours). Last time we broke this down into 60km (until we found an open boulangerie for breakfast), another 60km then lunch stop, then last 60km (trying not to get lost in Paris suburbs this time!)

Sunday 23rd July, lie-in, brunch, watch the end stage of the Tour in the afternoon, get Eurostar back whenever you want. For accommodation; I'll try to find a cheap hotel or hostel (depending on numbers) near Gare du Nord.

Let me know if you are interested, it's a cool ride so hopefully we can get a good group together.

Really tempted by this. Unfortunately I am due to give a talk to the Wealden Astronomy Society that Saturday so unless they change the date, don't think I can do the 24 hour Paris thingy. Did this ride over two days with Tony, Simon, Damian and Beth in July 2014 and it was excellent.

Sounds fun, but I'm visiting the Isle of Man that weekend, sorry.

Definitely up for this.
