Another great race with 3 Windrushers representing.

Ripon Triathlon was this years National Standard Distance Championships and Qualifier and so it was well attended. Although at he opposite end of the country in North Yorkshire we all managed to travel there with some time for chilled sunshine coffees before the race started at 1pm (latest start ever). Really great atmosphere and well run event set on Ripon race courses (so yes we ensured we watched out for any stray horses on course). The swim was a one loop lake course, bike was a pretty flat out and back so really good for TT all the way and the run was 10km through some country lanes and by a canal. There was even a band playing outside a house halfway through the run to keep the runners motivated!

I would really recommend the race and we came back with some great results! Jim and Saffron pretty closely matched in 2:28 and 2:26. And I managed it in 2:07.

It was a lot of fun racing with Nick and Jim! It was a great race course with what felt like s very wild swim, with clear water, shellfish and big swathes of weed to swim through. I was pleased with my first sub 2:30 triathlon, at 2.26. Let's see if we manage to qualify...
