I realize it's the Cotswold tri that day but thought I would ask. I'm signed up for the standard. Sea swim, bike course features "some of the steepest descents in Dorset" and the run is up and down a cliff. (Well, a hill). My first triathlon: I don't know what I was thinking when I signed up.

I believe there are places left still if any one is at a loose end...?

Congrats on going for your first tri! Never done this one but have been in Swanage recently, lovely part of the world, good choice! There is a steep hill in the middle of town going up to the yha where I stayed, not easy, but I am sure you love a challenge! After that, I've cycled around Corfe castle and there was nothing daunting there. If you like steam trains they have got trains between Swanage and Corfe Castle.
I wish you have a sunny face day to make even more spectacular!

Thanks Luis! I remember there is a nice ice cream shop in the middle of Swanage so I will be looking forward to my post-race treat. I think the bike route goes right past Corfe castle, it is a really beautiful area. I've actually been ill this week and not able to train and now just hurt my back (bending to scoop cat litter, I blame the cat), so feeling a bit unlucky. Here's hoping things will get better before next weekend.

Its absolutely beautiful down there, very jealous, it was in my calendar but I signed up for cotswold instead. enjoy it!!

Your cycling looked strong when i cycled through the mean streets of brixton with you but if you want any descending tips check out GCN e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zp9p24-o3-Y (there's loads more on there) and for running - http://www.kinetic-revolution.com/uphill-downhill-running-technique/

Lucy that is exactly what I need, I'm constantly overtaking people uphill and then having them get away from me on the way down again, thanks!

Story of my life Esther :-)
