The current Triathlon season is nearly over...but don't fear it's now time to start planning the winter season (think cross country and duathlons) and 2018 spring and summer season (think triathlon, ironman, swimrun and aquathlons or even aquabike!).

This year we will take your suggestions (post below) and take it to an online vote which will be held in October.

Why suggest? It is more fun to do races together - so the more Windrushers we can get to one event the bigger, better and more exciting it will be! Post as many as you like, but only suggest if you actually will attend that event (supporter or racer).

Suggestions deadline: 14th October

Vote deadline: 31st October

Hello Oliver,

I've just dropped a good friend of mine a message about the below who lives in Paris to see if he's looking to take part. I am tempted as well, but I also have a place in the London Marathon next year but I feel taking on both over such a short period of  time maybe too much ( Ill see how training goes ). But I will be heading to Richmond Park for some long runs in the build up to London, so you are more than welcome to join me.

How about running? There is a marathon / half-marathon / ultra-marathon at Bewl Water in May - it's a small event (< 500 people across all three distances last year), and the course is great - a mix of trails and country lanes.

We could swim the Bosphorus?!

I have done this twice and it's a great event.  There is a really strong current, so it doesn't feel like 6.5km - most people come in between 60 and 90mins.  The water is warm so no wetsuits required and Istanbul is a great place to spend a long weekend. I think Windrushers would be competitive too - I managed to win my age group last year.  And who does't want to become a certified cross-Continental swimmer?!

It's always oversubscribed and the entry process can be a faff - need a doctor's sign off and confirmation from a coach that you can swim, so a bit of paperwork to prepare. Need to be ready on the morning entries open as it fills up within a day.  Alternatively, SwimTrek organise a trip for it and always have some places.

There is a tough but great Swim-run along the Cornish coast organised by Mad Hatter events.

August 2018 I think.

I thnk a few of us are planning to do the Dublin 70.3 in August next year

Hi Charles
I've messaged them to find out when entries open...

I think we should make our own Lido touring an event! (Simon and Erika hint hint!!)

A nice and long bike event could be interesting too

Not a race but I did the Dunwich Dynamo this year - was a lot of fun!

A social ride for those who don't get into Ride100. Cycling into the 4am sunrise was very special....

Already working on a whole season programme!! Someone's going to have to persuade Simon to start cycling though ;)

I'm going to throw IM Barcelona or IM Italy in the Mix for anyone who wants to go long...

Keen to do IM 70.3's as I want o focus on the middle distance next year. Keen for Scotland, Estonia, maybe Sweden?

I've signed up for the half IM at Hever Castle (8 July) if anyone wants to join, also looking at Deva half in early June and Costwold classic early August.

3 DAYS LEFT....!!!!!!!

Keep the awesome suggestions coming...they can be races and events you have/plan/want to do....
