We are trialling a new run course. It will be at 7am on either a Wednesday or Friday at Battersea run track - http://enablelc.org/bpma. (there are lockers and showers available there)

The course will be based on run technique with lots of drills and some mobility and S&C. As with the swim course, it is less about getting lots of miles in, and more about learning the fundamentals of good running technique and trying to begin to undo some of the results of modern life (poor posture, inactive glutes etc) that hold us back from being able to run as our bodies intended. We’ll begin indoors for the theory but move outside for drills and running so you will need to dress warmly!!

The course cost includes a 5 week run plan with 2 run sessions for you to do each week, in addition to the course, plus some simple strength and conditioning exercises (no kit needed) to do yourself each week (it’s obviously up to you whether you do them!).

The course will cost £36 per person, plus track entry which you’ll need to pay each week (£4.40, I’ve tried to negotiate a discount but no luck unfortunately). You will need to pay in advance for the full course and places are not transferable (i.e. if you can't attend one of the nights you can't sell your place to someone else because the course will build on what you have learnt in previous weeks. But obviously you won’t have to pay track entry that week).

For the course to go ahead we need at least 12 people to sign up to either a Wed or Friday (we’ll go with whichever is more popular), up to a max of 16 people. The course will run from w/c 25 Oct for 6 weeks, but if any weeks have to be cancelled because of ice on the track it may go on longer so ideally block a few more weeks out in your diary.

Will Thursday track still be taking place or is this course in place of that?

It's an hour long session (if you wanted to stay on you can but it's only coached for an hour). Thursday track will still be on, this is additional. (And no need to tell me your preference of day on here, just on the Doodle).

Hi Valerie, sure I replied but cant find it now, apologies if you've had this twice!

You'd still get the plan so could keep up with the course but would miss out on the detail of the drills and S&C we do in the sessions. We hope to run the course again next year but probably not until March when it gets a bit warmer.
