London/Manchester marathon postponed/ not sure what's happening with your summer Ironman........we can help

Virtual Running

You can still run outside, still keep fit, still work towards these goals. AND you can still get that shiny bling for all these runs.

Finarace.com are advertising Plan B allowing you to win some bling through covering distance between 25-200km or to get a new PB for a race distance between 5km to a marathon.

https://findarace.com/plan-b-virtual-race

Runthrough are advertising virtual running where they will send you the t-shirt and bling if you email them a strava screenshot of successfully completing the distance. It doesn't need to be on the same day as the planned race.

https://www.runthrough.co.uk/virtual/

How can we celebrate these runs and keep track of the Windrush club achievements?

Announcing the ViS Run World Series

In order to keep training we have hatched another devilish plan to keep Windrushers active and still achieve your running goals for 2020.

The ViS Run World Series will compile a number of solo virtual achievements where you can train towards your goal and maintain your fitness for the events planned later in the year. You can win a 10km medal from Runthrough or plan-b then contribute towards winning the ViS Run World Series. Remember these runs can be anywhere, any runs count.

We just ask for each Windrusher to join the Windrush Triathlon club on strava and then sign up to the ViS Run World Series via a google sheet adding your updated times.

Points system

5km-5 points

Strength and Conditioning session for at least 30 minutes-5 points (don't forget Lucy Hurn has some great S&C videos on her facebook pagehttps://www.facebook.com/feelfitwithlucy/)

10km-10 points

Half marathon-20 points

Marathon-50 points

New PB on any distance-15 points

Hill reps-15 points

Confirmed PLOGGING for at least 30 mins (strava photo needed)-25 points

https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/motivation/a776063/plogging-the-new-running-craze-that-is-saving-the-planet/

We intend to complement this goal based world series with a segment leaderboard to race your favourite segments. This means we can still run together.......just not at the same time. ;)

What do you need to do to join in?

Join the Windrush triathlon club on Strava

Sign up and add your details on the Google sheet including your strava ID (found clicking on your profile in the url)

Update any runs, S&C sessions or PLOGGING counts on the master sheet below

We will sense check the results using some strava stalking validation

The competition will run till the end of July/August

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IMxbQsCXJ4xp2dnmKp7kneNwvF4rmaMjWZR_Xc1MGTY/edit?usp=sharing

The winner of the ViS Run World Series will be announced at the summer ball.

Rumours haven't been confirmed but the prizes may include a gold plated toilet roll holder. ;)
