See it's getting warmer... just ready to peak with a one day heatwave on 25th April - which is usually uncomfortable..... but being as how I'll be wearing a banana suit... (I did check whether we were getting a Windrush banana suit option on the kit but apparently not) ..
I've posted the pics from today's training in case anyone has any expert advice on technique etc :)

Right, now that you've regained consciousness after seeing the… Continue

I've got a load of old tri magazines from 2008+9 - Tri220. Thought someone might want them rather than me chucking them away. Obviously the news in them is old but the training, kit, nutrition articles are still relevant.
Let me know if you want me to bring them in for you (I've got about 20 odd)

As discussed with some of you last night, and as promised, here (assuming the file upload functions works) is the entry form for the Hart Sprint on 3rd May. It's cheap, easy to get to from Clapham Junction and a nice course. It's also pretty Old Skool with regards to entering (cheque in post). cheers Claire

This was an awesome event last year, though not one for the feint hearted. It's a true test and is reputedly in the top 10 hardest tris in the UK.
I've signed up again this year (September 5th)...anyone else joining me?

Hello everyone. I am back from my two month jaunt in the USA, and will be back to training with you in the next week or so. In the meantime, is anyone interested in doing this: http://www.cyclosport.org/eventdetails.aspx?id=131&eventid=1022
I've done a couple before. I don't even pretend to be competitive but it's usually a good day out, new scenery, good organisation etc....

Hello sports enthusiasts!
A guy I work with is organising the 'Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour' and I thought it might be of interest to windrush members. This is how he's described it:
"features a collection of brilliant short films about mountain culture and outdoor adventure – 7 or 8 films each evening - the films feature sports like climbing, skiing/snowboarding, whitewater and sea kayaking (including a world record waterfall drop), mountain biking and… Continue

I'm thinking about entering a team for this tri next weekend. I was thinking of doing the swim and I've got a mate who's a decent cyclist...we just need a runner!
Follow link for details - http://www.slsc.org.uk/index.php?page_id=12&links_id=6
Let me know if any of you are interested? I reckon we could have a decent shout at getting on the podium...and a nice bit a publicity for Windrush!

Thanks for interest in the inaugural Windrush social event. The response has been really good so it should be a good night. 17th September seemed to be the night most people could do so that's the night we've gone for - really sorry to the 1 or 2 people who couldn't make this.
I suggest we meet in the East Dulwich Tavern from 7pm onwards for drinks and chat, and general get-to-know-you stuff: http://www.fancyapint.com/pubs/pub1683.html

I think its high time for a social. The weekends are probably best but I'm sure everyone is booked up for the next few already - it that time of year!
So how about we pick a Thursday in the coming weeks and let ourselves off training in favour of a few beers and a curry?
How about 27th Aug? 3rd Sept? 13th Sept?

I have a friend who won a place a Hyde Park Tri weekend of Aug 15th/16th. She already paid for her entry (£75) so is looking for a small contribution for the free spot. There are Olympic and Sprint places available.
Let me know if you are interested.
