We're about to officially launch the 2019 Aquathlon to the world! This is the 8th year the club has put on the event. It's a lovely day out and the one of the few times the whole club comes out in force to spend a Sunday morning in the park.
Like most years this event can only really happen because of volunteers and we need about 40 people to make the event happen. Please put the 30th June in your Diary and keep the day free. After we pack up there will be a celebration. An event will be created shortly so please sign up!
There are opportunities to take part as an athlete with are two ways to do this, the first is as a Club Newbie and the second as representing Windrush in the London League.
To qualify as a Newbie you need to have joined the club after July 2018. We will collect the names of those interested and then pull names from the hat. There are 6 spots.
To qualify for the London League you'll need to submit your quickest swim time and ParkRun time in the lead up. Again there are 6 spots, 3 for the men and 3 for the women.
Look out for further communication about both the Newbie and London League spot soon.
Please help make the 2019 Aquathlon a success by volunteering your time. There are plenty of places on offer and we have a new dedicated 'Go Tri' race so get your family and friends involved if they want to try multi-sport for the first time.
As you may be aware I will be standing down as Race Director so this is my last one. If you're interested in organising an event, are committed to London for the next 2 to 3 years and are able to work to a deadline please let me know so we can start the training. You have to be fully committed and organised. If no-one stands it will be the last Aquathlon.
