Exercising/training guidance during COVID-19

While triathlon is predominantly an outdoor sport that allows athletes to exercise in the fresh air, the message to all of us is clear, we must play our part in containing the spread of COVID-19 and keeping others safe whilst thanking those who are already!

We adhere, as a club, to BTF (the governing body of our sport) guidelines who state:

Yes, so long as you follow government instruction.

In England, you can exercise freely outdoors. This means that you can take whatever exercise you need to, so long as you maintain social distancing whilst doing it. You may now exercise with one person from outside your immediate household, again so long as you remain at least 2m apart.

You can now travel to exercise and there is no limit on the distance that you may travel. You must however, only travel in a car with members of your immediate household, even if you are meeting another person to exercise with.

If you are thinking about going open water swimming please read this.

The choice on how/where you exercise is completely yours and remember we are all in this together – please stay safe and supportive...
