Hey windies, am thinking about getting a bike fit. Cadence charge £150, which seems steep. Is it worth it? Would any of you recommend it and if so where?
Alps-Pyrenees trip: I'd like to do a cycling trip around the Alps or Pyrenees to get some good climbing in. There are tours or could look at getting a chalet and mapping routes ourselves to save money. Is anyone interested and does anyone have recommendations of trips they've been on? Looking at doing this around late June or July.
thanks

I'm fresh in terms of touring too, so keen to mix up challenges with endurance rides if that's the work, and some good rest and recuperation. So I'm thinking a more diy holiday.
Jake as I said last night I'm glad to help organise, and my offers there to drive as well.
Although two tips from a keen cycling friend at work are to budget around £450 return for the drive each car, that's fuel, tolls, and booking Eurotunnel early. Also to consider the train they take bikes, I've just checked with www.captaintrain.com (I have to declare and interest) and return fares start at around £181 from London to Bourg-St-Maurice say, close to the Swiss boarder, 10 hours. - Perhaps a mix of at least one car (12 hours flat out, probably more like 16 with breaks and Eurotunnel q), and others could join by train if they prefer the space to play games, chill and enjoy the scenery.
Also his tip on chalet's is this company http://www.rudechalets.com/
There's lots of options, Jake perhaps we get together to agree a plan ?
Thanks Kit and Sarah sounds good
So far, takers would be: Kit, Jake, Simon Jennings, Paul W, Tobias and Sarah if dates with Ride London work and Laura A. Sarah if you havent done Ride london before I'd say at least a week of R&R if you go to the Alps prior.
We'd have to work out routes ourselves, unless we take an organised trip. I think first we need to find: accomodation and work out costs of the trip.
Kit the 450GBP train price: is it for just one car & bikes return?
here is the post I put up on 9 March with some info on accomodation. I suggest we do some more digging around for accomodation etc and reconvene end of the week, say sunday?

Hey windies, here is some info on campsites in the area, in terms of dates week 18-24 July would be great as the tour will be going through the Alps then.
Spoke with this one, seems good, about 4km outside Bourg d'Oisans, one of the apartments is still available and they do meals and breakfast (ie. half board)

A few options at this one but most of the 4pp cabins seem to be 1 double bed + 1 room with 3 singles.
Flights: to Grenoble aren't available yet (mid-April) but for Lyon they're around £90pp + bike case etc + trasnfer to the campsite
