Hi all,
I’m looking into options for training sessions from Jan until the timetable change over in March/April and want to get your feedback. Please post your preferences below if you think you would regularly attend the sessions.
Firstly for a new strength and conditioning session (see more below) at the Castle Leisure centre (on Elephant and Castle ‘roundabout’,SE1 6FG).
Options are either
I am also looking into possible alternatives for the Wed eve swim session. Attendance has been good recently so it may well stay as it is but I want to ensure we are meeting the needs of as many members as possible so could you let me know your preferences between:
Obviously there is some overlap between timings for the S&C and swim sessions, so please let me know if you would plan to attend both/your preference so I can take this into account reviewing the voting.
More on S&C:
Strength and conditioning sessions will include a range of:
- Mobility work
- Weights and body weight exercises (a range of weights will be available)
- Core and stabilising exercises
Regular strength and conditioning for triathletes can lead to increased performance through:
- Overcoming the risk of injuries caused by muscular imbalances combined with repetitive overuse
- Improved endurance through stronger muscles and ability to hold better form
- Improved efficiency through increased mobility, coordination, agility, strength, power, stability and balance
All of which will hopefully make you a fitter and faster triathlete.

Thanks Lucy this is great.
S&C = Option 1. Although, as others have mentioned, any chance for it being closer to Brockwell, Herne Hill, West Norwood, Clapham or Brixton would be great...
Swim = Option 1
Thanks :)
As I don't have to head for the office desk option 2 on S&C sounds good but I expect option 1 is more realistic for workers - poor things.
Swimming option 1 is still attractive, then I can justify not doing spinning which is so boring, although the coaching is fabulous.
Hi Lucy
I'd opt for option 1 for both the swim and S+C.
I've been attending the Wednesday night swim and its great fun and getting a good attendance.
Simon
I've just noticed our normal Pilates Session isn't on The Events List ? I cant make this week, but normally I go. I find the Session really beneficial & good fun. Any reasons ? or is it The New IT Man Paul Connor again ;-)
Sorted now, thanks for pointing it out Paul
Option 1 for both for me please Lucy.
Later strength and conditioning class on Thursdays at 8-9am would suit me better, but realise that this might be too late for others.
Current Wednesday evening swim session at West Norwood better for me than E&C early morning sessions.
