apropos of nothing, I had another awesome track session last night and I want to extol the virtues of track to the whole club.

A bunch of new people came down which was superb. (I am annoyed I turned up mid warm up so didn't say hello before we started running)

We ran in groups which was awesome. Some excellent group motivation coming out and it's so nice to have so many people coming down.

Thanks to Tom for being my running buddy. Congrats to everyone else for getting through a tough long set.

I've put a graph of progression from Strava to map out what effect track is having on (my) running. It's dramatic and my focus is on longer distances. Come down. You will run faster and it is fun.

Full of Windrush love today after last night. :)

Definitely going to start coming to these sessions when I can run again (ankle injury!). The improvement on running looks massive!

Nice graph Dave :-).

My schedule has changed so I'll be Lidoing on Monday and tracking on a Thursday from next week.

I was also thinking the next post-track social should be at my place as its only 1km away - just right for a cool down jog.

Wholeheartedly agree with David. Great atmosphere last night and running in groups is brilliant for motivation and pace. Was my first track session as was previously unable to attend these, looking forward to doing more!

I should be there most weeks once the season is over too
I love track sessions too! It's definitely improved my pace and so great running in groups. Thank you to Sam and running Windrushers. See you there next week!
Hear hear! Can't wait to get back regularly on Thursdays - it's done AMAZING things for my running!
Totally concur with your post Dave. Was an awesome session with a great bunch of determined people, plus special thanks to Coach Sam who had an evil glint in her eye with some killer intervals. Will definitely be a regular now my Thursday's have cleared up.
Proud to highlight after last Thursday I lobbed 1m43s off my park run PB! So it's true, it does make you run faster!

I thought I noticed you getting getting faster Dave! Can't put it all down to a new pair of shoes either! I agree - a consistent weekly track session is the best way to gain speed for any distance. I have had some nice PBs this season because of the Thursday night torture sessions. Big thank you to Sam, Rich and Erica for the coaching.
