The final count down is on for the most anticipated race of the season!

PLEASE read the race booklet here

1. Camping (arrive anytime on Saturday)

Camping is on site (no pre-booking needed) and costs £10 per person (which will be collected in the evening by the organisers so have cash ready).

2. BBQ (about 6pm)

We plan to have a BBQ once tents are up and if you are able to provide transportation for disposable BBQs please let me know!

Please bring your own food and drink, additional BBQs would be very appreciated.

3. Travel

If you are able to offer a lift and/or bike and/or luggage spot please post below.

All those wanting to join me via train (leaving Herne Hill at 3ish Saturday - exact timings TBC) to Battle and then a 30-minute cycle to Ashburnham Place should arrive before 5pm (Sunday return is slightly longer but will give essential resting.

5. Gazebos

If you are able to bring the Windrush Gazebos please let us know! As they will provide essential cover if it rains...

6. Post race celebrations

We will be celebrating every Windrusher crossing the line (please join as support crew even if you are not racing - we have flags) so wear/borrow club kit (post requests below)!

Once the race is over, we will pack up and head back home and plan to meet in Herne Hill around 6pm (after showering!) to celebrate the last race of the season with a cool beverage in the Prince Regent (opposite the Lido!).

Any additional questions please post below...

Hey Girl, I now have the gazebo sorted. Or at least one of them!

I think I remember from the BBQ @ Crystal Palace.

We managed three girls and three bikes in he car once, I'm sure if the bikes go on the roof then there's ample space for the gazebo to go in the car... perhaps I test in the first instance?

It is pretty big...but amazing if you could!

Will most likely also have room for windrush gazebo if needed.
Hey Lucy, picked up the gazebo yesterday. Won't have room for additional bags I'm afraid. Going to be full to the brim with that in the car! Just wanted to let you know so you can sort alternative.

Hey Raya, or anyone else, I'm planning to come down and support, will ride down on sat but would you have any room for my tent and sleeping bag if i drop it round before.

Emily, what time are you planning on leaving?

Hi Sarah.
No problem. lift and tent accommodation both yours :)
Would i be able to borrow a small Windrush top please?
I'll pm you my number to figure out the details.

If no one's taken you up on your kind offer, please could I grab a lift and tent space? I'll have a bike but if you can house me I won't need a tent!

Hello!

I'll be driving down. No roof rack so with my own bike and kit, I think I'll have space for 1xhuman and 1xsignificant luggage (bike/V large tent) + bbqs and bags. First come, first served. Sorry I’m not sure who’s already sorted from the above chain.

ETD from East Dulwich area around 3pm and happy to do door to door service if you live in the general Windrush catchment.

Couple of other things:

  • I have a big tent with a spare 'room' (#baller), so if anyone wants to help me put it up, I can house you.
  • I do not have any Windrush rig yet sadly so if anyone's got a spare small Jersey or Top that I can pop over my Trisuit, I'll happily represent.

Thanks,

Becky

Hey Guys,

I'll be driving down early afternoon, will have space for one other (including bike, equip, etc) if anybody wants a lift just give me a shout, coming from Bermondsey area, will happily pick up/drop off from home

Oli

Hi Jake,

That would be a huge help – Thank you! I;ll be in touch through the week :-)

Hi Aine, I should be able to take your things I reckon. Speak next week

Hi Tony. If you (or anyone else) has a bit of extra space in your car I'd really appreciate it if you could take down my tent and backpack. I'm probably going to take the train down but it would be a lot easier to manage without the extra baggage :-)

Gesine - I'm driving down and judging by the number of times you are in Dulwich swimming pool we must live reasonably close

Am going to have to sort out the bike racks on my mid-life-crisis-mobile but, assuming that can be done at some point this weekend, should be able to take you, your bike and camping gear.

When did you plan on going down?

Hi Folks

I'm still lift free, so if anyone else is driving, please give me a shout! otherwise, as long as my kit can travel, happy to bike & train it (the heavy rail option, not the workout)

Thanks!

Hi Oliver,

I still have to sort out my travel, would be very grateful if I could jump in the car with you! I live in Brixton, let me know where would be a good place to stop over to pick me up!

Thanks a lot!!!

FYI - trains from Battle to London have part bus replacement on Sunday so Bexhill is best alternative to get back to London with bikes - about 7 miles from the race - trains go to Victoria (and East Croydon and Clapham Junction).

Hi Liz,

Would you still have space for me and my bike to do an early run down? Happy to split cost, but I'm actually not sure if I am going to make it yet due to family stuff (also the reason I don't want to be away too long).

Let me know!

I'm planning on hiring a car through car club and driving down early Sunday....not sure I can hack night in a tent pre race (m' poor old bones!). If anyone wants to split the cost (about £30 each) and grab a lift down and back with me, that'd be fab. Otherwise I'm happy to ferry camping gear back on Sunday afternoon.

Hey guys, I will be driving down to Sussex on Saturday from around Oval and have room for one other person, for anyone that needs a lift.

Rich
