The final count down is on for the most anticipated race of the season!

PLEASE read the race booklet here

1. Camping (arrive anytime on Saturday)

Camping is on site (no pre-booking needed) and costs £10 per person (which will be collected in the evening by the organisers so have cash ready).

2. BBQ (about 6pm)

We plan to have a BBQ once tents are up and if you are able to provide transportation for disposable BBQs please let me know!

Please bring your own food and drink, additional BBQs would be very appreciated.

3. Travel

If you are able to offer a lift and/or bike and/or luggage spot please post below.

All those wanting to join me via train (leaving Herne Hill at 3ish Saturday - exact timings TBC) to Battle and then a 30-minute cycle to Ashburnham Place should arrive before 5pm (Sunday return is slightly longer but will give essential resting.

5. Gazebos

If you are able to bring the Windrush Gazebos please let us know! As they will provide essential cover if it rains...

6. Post race celebrations

We will be celebrating every Windrusher crossing the line (please join as support crew even if you are not racing - we have flags) so wear/borrow club kit (post requests below)!

Once the race is over, we will pack up and head back home and plan to meet in Herne Hill around 6pm (after showering!) to celebrate the last race of the season with a cool beverage in the Prince Regent (opposite the Lido!).

Any additional questions please post below...

Helen, if you've not sorted yourselve out already there should be space for you and your bike etc in the van we're hiring. We're collecting the van around 4.30pm on the Sat and heading off ASAP thereafter.  If that works for you let me know.   Helen Thompson said:

If anyone has a space in a car for me and is leaving after 3pm I would be very grateful! I'm flying in from Jordan in the morning so won't have time to drop kit off to anyone before getting a train or anything, so a lift would be incredibly helpful!
Hi Esther.
In theory yes but I'm not entirely sure how big the car is that I'm renting. I'm hoping with back seats down it will.fit 2 bikes but front wheels might need to come off.
Looking at distances, I'm planning to leave at 5.30am so could collect en route.
I need to be back by 4ish so won't be hanging around long after either.
DM me and we can discuss options.

Hi Liz,

Would you still have space for me and my bike to do an early run down? Happy to split cost, but I'm actually not sure if I am going to make it yet due to family stuff (also the reason I don't want to be away too long).

Let me know!

I'm planning on hiring a car through car club and driving down early Sunday....not sure I can hack night in a tent pre race (m' poor old bones!). If anyone wants to split the cost (about £30 each) and grab a lift down and back with me, that'd be fab. Otherwise I'm happy to ferry camping gear back on Sunday afternoon.

Hey guys, I will be driving down to Sussex on Saturday from around Oval and have room for one other person, for anyone that needs a lift.

Rich

Hi Rich, would you possibly have room for a person and bike, or just a person? I haven't sorted out any transport yet and am just trying to find places for me and equipment from Brixton/Oval areas! Thanks

Hi Hannah, I should be able to squeeze you and your kit/bike in the car - albeit may need to pack fairly light! PM me and we can sort out logistics. Thanks, Rich.

Hi, I am driving down Saturday afternoon, looking at leaving London/SE15 3.30ish and have room for 3/4 people plus bikes etc. Lift back is fine too - although I am doing the middle distance race so maybe finishing later than others. Let me know if you need transport.

Hi Justin – Could a take you up on that? Happy to pay towards petrol (+ snacks) Cheers, Aine

Hi Justin. Could I grab one of those seats please? Thank you. Eduardo

Hi Aine and Eduardo, yes that'll be fine.

What time are people planning on arriving? Around 5 ish? Also, as it gets dark early don't forget head torches and lamps for the BBQ if you have one.

Hi Justin,

Would Rory and I please be able to give you a bag of camping stuff to take down for us? It has a small tent and sleeping bags but we normally carry it on our bikes so its pretty small.

Thanks so much if possible :)

Hi Emily, yes that'll be fine.

Slightly lost track of the options here, but if anyone still has space for any of: me, bike, tent + gear I would appreciate it.
