A great race and a firm favourite of the Windrush Calendar!

Its 10Km and a traffic-free multi-terrain course of two laps around Beckenham Place Park on footpaths through woods and grass fields. With water station on route and cake at the end (showers also) its the perfect Sunday activity!

Hi, we will be in the pub at approximately 13.26. Come and join us!
That was as much fun as ever AND despite Rory having a plateful and Elly's family enjoying their well-earned share of cakes there was no shortage.

Top marks to Saffron for running so fast she even won a bottle of wine! She can't drink now as part of her carefully controlled athlete diet but generously offered to bring it along to the AGM to bribe people to vote for her as social secretary - which definitely shows she is well-qualified for the role if you ask me.
Ha, thanks Tony but the abstention was more to do with, er, enjoying a few drinks last night rather than an 'athlete's diet'. Red wine on me for Beckenham crew tomorrow!
Kudos Saff!
Any other Palmares?
Thanks Dean! But...what's a Palmare?!
With apologies to Charles and Brexiteers it is a French word that means list of recognised achievements - so for example Bradley Wiggins' palmares includes winning the Tour de France.

Cycling is unfortunately not the sport for Brexiteers - all distances are expressed in kilometres, cyclists drink from bidons (not water bottles), you only drink coffee not tea and you ride around in "peletons" unless cross winds cause the development of "echelons".

You will never see Nigel Farage on a bike for this reason.

Well done and big congrats to the 18 Windrushers who participated in this great local race at the weekend...I hope you all got your cakes worth! (Unfortunately I had to bow out to hangout in Crystal Palace Pool in a wetsuit - which was not as fun I assure you!) all the proceeds from the event will be given to St. Christopher’s and The Royal British Legion/

Here are the results (always remember to put Windrush Tri as your club - it helps us win wine yay!)

More importantly here are some great action shots:

My sprint finish head to head got neatly captured haha

An excellent race and turn out by the club. The sound of the bugle ringing off the trees at the start was a fitting tribute.

After Epsom Downs XC and yesterday my legs are shattered...totally worth it.

Thanks all for a great race, and also to the photographer.

I'm In for 2017 race

Who else has signed up for this?

Wish I could but I'm on a coaching course - amazing event though, everyone should sign up! I am pretty sure quite a few have done so already!
