Anyone fancy joining me for a relatively easy ride into Kent? Not sure the route yet but will try a Hill or two, easy speed though (avg 22-23kph) and it’s mostly about getting out of London and enjoy countryside. Start 8.30-9am to let the body clock adjust to less sleep... happy to take suggestions for routes too, nothing set in stone yet apart from the fact that I am definitely on my bike on Sunday

You mean: adapt to an extra hour in bed on Sunday :-)
Having been reassured by King’s that probably my arm is only slightly broken now(and been sent out with painkillers so powerful you have to take other drugs to stop them punching a hole in your stomach) I’m declaring myself fit enough for this type of ride

How about meeting at Cadence at the top of Crystal Palace Hill at 9 on Sunday?
I'm keen particularly with the extra hour in bed! Any thoughts on length? Just to know how much studying I need to get done tomorrow!
Ah one hour extra sleep - how did I get that wrong! 9am at Cadance is cool. I’m just going through my routes, found a nice one to cover about 75k, but that includes York’s Hill too... [that’s when the average speed goes down). I’m open to suggestions and we can just decide on a day and wing it? See how we feel for hills too. My priority is to get out of London and enjoy the countryside and quieter lanes - not killing myself over speed, just saying ;) but Tony how on earth do you cycle with a broken arm?!

Tony pleased to see you are recovering and can ride again.

If I miss Hector's ride - a good chance - I'll join you.

Cool, see you at 9am whoever turns up :) after Lido today I found out that other Windrushers arę meeting there too - they are off to Surey, and it’s definitely a longer and faster route. I’m planning Kent at a slower pace, with a hill or two (all depending how the day goes and what the consensus is - all my previous routes have hills in but we can detour)
I might join you, see how the evening goes ; )
Well the trick is to get a minor type 1 fracture of the radius bone head, some powerful pain killers and not fall off

York’s Hill? You’re sure about that ;-)

I ll aim for Cadence at 9 but like you plan a very social pace two to three hour ride
Well getting an extra hour in bed when your arm is throbbing and you can’t sleep....I’m going to admit defeat on this one - enjoy your ride

Thanks to you Alicja for taking the initiative to arrange the cycle plus the rest of our gang for a fantastic Sunday. Sorry for scuppering your mid-ride cake stop to suit my Sunday afternoon plans. Well done to Rob for a speedy innertube change, hopefully the first of not too many on your new(ish) steed.

Yes, thanks Alicja for organising us! Was a great day out today! Some good pictures too!
