The Outdoor Swimming Society have announced the dates of their 2018 swims.

The OSS run a number of great swims through spring, summer and autumn, which are always great fun. The Dart 10km is a must do for any swimmer but it can be quite tough.

Places on all the OSS swims go quite quickly so make sure you get in early to have a chance of getting a place.

You can find out more info here:

Anyone thinking of entering any of the swims?

The Swoosh looks pretty cool. Has anyone done this?

Hi Laura. If you do want to enter The Swoosh you can get a half-price entry fee (until Dec 4) through the charity LevelWater (a charity that teaches disabled children to swim) https://events.levelwater.org/order-1766069017729765

Keen for the Swoosh if there's a group of people going down. Penciled in the Dart as well but will see how things are stacking up.

The Swoosh is near Salcombe and Salcombe is amazing, I've had some awesome weekends in Salcombe.  What does a 6 km swim plan look like and can anyone point me in the direction of something like the Ascis Running Training Plan  ? So I can see if this is realistic for my level ( or lack ) of Swimming ability + time on my hands.

You have to fundraise a fair bit if you get a LevelWater place though no? I'm in for the Dart and pondering the Swoosh...

Paul - most mass organised swims come with a training plan. I've never actually followed a plan and just built up to the distance over time. I do have a theory that half the race is training and the other half is in your head so if you can do 3km nicely you can do 6km.

Looks like the Swoosh is Sold Out so a charity place is the only option I think...
