Penshurst Village New Year's Cross Country Sunday Jan 7th 11.30

This race is a great fun, super-low key annual 5m mud-fest down in deepest Kent's beautiful Penshurst - those who've competed at Hever will have ridden through it.

I popped the details on the XC Whatsapp but just in case anyone else is interested here are the details.

I will be driving down that morning and have a couple of spaces in my car...

It's also a great opportunity to go head to head with West Kent's finest triathlon club from nearby Tunbridge Wells who always send a big team! I will be wearing black & yellow of course...

I've booked this.  Can I bag a space in your car, please?

Andrew that's great. I should point out I am in TW that night so the lift down doesn't mean a lift back!

I can get you to Tonbridge train station however which is on the main line.

A little reminder for this Sunday. Looks like I’m driving down in the morning and need to get straight back after.

I still have a couple of spaces in the car if anyone is interested.

Hi,

Happy new year everyone!!!

Seeing as this is practically on our doorstep, Caroline and I have registered too.

All Windies welcome to pop in for a cuppa after/on the way home!

Neil good to see that West Kent’s second best triathlon club will also be there...

A great fun - & very muddy - day out for a very successful Windrush team with 3rd overall (Alex Green), 2nd V40 (my good self) followed by a couple of pints next to a roaring fire to warm up ready for the drive home.

Also lovely to catch up with the MacGregors.

I will remind everyone again next year!

your Run Captain :)

Likewise! good to see you all!

Great work Lloyd. Thanks very much for bringing this race to our attention. It's at this point that I should probably admit that the race was won by a very slight 15 year old boy with braces (on his teeth). The scamp beat me by more than a minute. Nonetheless, I'll certainly be back next year to enjoy the local ale whilst my running shoes dry by the roaring fire.
