New Windrush Website and Membership Platform

We have just launched a brand new Windrush Triathlon Club website plus a new membership system - which means you can get your 2018 membership NOW and be one of the first to get your hands on the new membership card!!

Throughout 2017, the committee has been busy creating a new web presence - to help tell the world who we are, what we do and why they should support and join the Windrush family.

What are the benefits of a new website?

  • A fresh and engaging way to connect with new and potential members
  • A simple and easy way to navigate and find out more about our great club

What’s happening to our current website?

  • Don’t fear, the forum isn’t going anywhere and everyone can continue to post exactly the same way you do now at https://clubhouse.windrushtri.co.uk/
  • Information pages will move to the new website which you can easily access from the Forum
  • We have also moved to a dedicated membership system with online payment platform.

Why, and what benefits will it bring?

  • It was voted for by the majority of members in 2017’s survey
  • It enables the use of credit/debit cards for membership and kit payments
  • It offers a sophisticated membership management platform to keep better track of an ever-growing membership base
  • It provides a more streamlined way to purchase club kit
  • As a second phase to the launch, in early 2018, we will also be rolling out credit/debit card payments for training sessions.

What does this mean?

  • Coaches will have more time to spend on coaching within the session
  • Members know that they are guaranteed a spot
  • Cancellations and notifications are easier to manage
  • As this will be launched in 2018, please continue with the current way of booking sessions until we let you know otherwise

This is AMAZING! How do I see it?

  1. Start by navigating to windrushtri.co.uk to view the shiny new website
  2. Check out the new membership platform here and get your hands on a 2018 Windrush membership with a brand new card!

We hope you will all love the new website and membership platform which the committee (old and new) have spent many hours designing and creating. If you do have any comments or suggestions please pop us an email.

Also, we are only human so if you spot any odd things - pop us an email about that too.

Thank you for reading and hope you love it as much as we do - I am looking forward to you all being part of the Windrush family in 2018!

From your Windrush Chairperson,
Dave Synott

It's amazing, most exciting for me is I can access it from NHS computers, it must be good!! Seriously, good work guys, I know how long this has been in the making and it's great to see it! Sx

It's a fine piece of work.  Well done to those involved, and thanks for all your hard work.

Single sport activities: these will be added in due course.

Booking for sessions: this information will be in the individual session sign up page for those who would like a reminder on what to bring.

Club champs pages/race report: again, these will come in due course.

Having got the website ready to accept membership for 2018, our efforts are now focussed on making sure the session sign up works smoothly and has all the information people need to be able to participate (so these are timely questions Laura!). Changes to the SquareSpace website (race reports, single sport activities etc) can happen independently of this, so we will have all this up soon!

Sorry for the brevity. Trains aren’t conducive to detailed replies!

The more I look the more awesome it is! You've really captured the welcoming nature of Windrush!

Quick comments - it might be good to put some of the fun single sport things we do on the running, swimming and cycling pages such as the cross country events, cold water swim champs etc (I know there are pictures of them) to give people more of a flavour of what we do as well as tri.

Also, will the session booking pages when they are ready to go have info about what you need to bring etc for that session, as this is not on the training page?

One other thing...(sorry!) will there be a page for races, such as the club champs and how to sign up for them now we know what they will be, and maybe race reports?

Super well done to the team! It's awesome to see all your hard work pay off with a great new look ready for 2018. I'm excited to try out the electronic payment system - we've tried to get it to work for a LONG time so this is most impressive :-)

Hmm I’m not sure I’d ideally want to be messing around trying to transfer online tokens at the beginning of sessions ....but if it saves my pockets from destruction by 50p coins I’d give it a go :-)

Absolutely amazing work ! Well done on creating this! I know lots of hard work went into this so you should be proud! The website looks amazing and makes me even more happy to be part of such a great windrushfamily!

Yes, this is something we’ve prepared for Tony. As we move to a token-based system of payments for sessions/events etc  (so you buy tokens online in advance and in bulk for concenience) administering last minute sign-ups will still be possible.

So long as people turning up have paid for their membership, the coach will be able to (effectively) sign them in to the session and the system will transfer the required number of tokens automatically. New/prospective members will still be able to benefit from a free taster session, but they will need to sign up on MyClubhouse (as they would do on the Ning site to be able to rsvp), so that they can receive tokens to try a session. While this may seem cumbersome, we need to make sure our coaches are covered for everyone attending their session, which means knowing emergency contact details, etc. which you provide when registering on MyClubhouse.
