All, one of our favourite events of prior years is back!

A mobmatch is a super-simple and fun league where the winning club is the one who fields the most runners, not the fastest...

Who fancies racing CPT, Chasers, Tritons, Ful-on, Optima, Kingfisher and many more over a series of 3 races?

Race dates and locations are listed below. They are now also posted on MyClubhouse so please click on the link and sign up to register your interest.

  1. Wimbledon Common, 17th February
  2. Hilly Fields,17th March
  3. South Norwood Country Park, 28th April

Results at the end with a trinket for fastest team overall (4 to score) and the main trophy for whoever fields the most runners over the 3 events.

Runners must be wearing club colours and have their club as their parkrun club so that the results are easy to sort.

Windrush Juniors most welcome to participate and help push our team size up.

simples!

your favourite Run Captain.

and, look Laura, I even spelt parkrun correctly

It does actually say "Memorial" on the trophy but yep he was a bit concerned to find out what it might imply

Still if you will insist on going off to live in Argentina this is what happens...seriously though it is a term of affection -  Julian did a lot to build up the running side of the club - of which the mob match series was/is an important part

Tony I’ll take that Pepsi challenge on - a great internal race within the series.

Alex G remind me how old you are ?!

Tony, can you just call it the Julian Garcia trophy? Memorial sounds very morbid and I know he doesn't like that bit.

Mind Hilly Fields is almost 5k vertical as well as horizontal

Comment by Tony on January 15, 2018 at 22:05

5k give or take 10m depending on who was driving the measuring wheel

There is of course the matter of the Julian Garcia Memorial Trophy for the Windrush member achieving the highest % age grade result over what were the three parkruns for the mob match

Last year this went to Becs but with Deborah ominously back from injury and Lawrie Pope maybe finding time away from his school work the betting might be more convoluted.

Just make sure the Julian Garcia has been well polished Becs ;-)

They're in the diary! And good way to work towards the parkrun touring numbers as well!!
