All, one of our favourite events of prior years is back!

A mobmatch is a super-simple and fun league where the winning club is the one who fields the most runners, not the fastest...

Who fancies racing CPT, Chasers, Tritons, Ful-on, Optima, Kingfisher and many more over a series of 3 races?

Race dates and locations are listed below. They are now also posted on MyClubhouse so please click on the link and sign up to register your interest.

  1. Wimbledon Common, 17th February
  2. Hilly Fields,17th March
  3. South Norwood Country Park, 28th April

Results at the end with a trinket for fastest team overall (4 to score) and the main trophy for whoever fields the most runners over the 3 events.

Runners must be wearing club colours and have their club as their parkrun club so that the results are easy to sort.

Windrush Juniors most welcome to participate and help push our team size up.

simples!

your favourite Run Captain.

Just a little reminder. the first event is Wimbledon on February 17th. can everyone coming sign into the event so that we can gauge numbers.

Ryan/ have you still got the flag, can I grab it from you please? I'm planning to cycle over there - meet at the Lido around 7:45 maybe.

Hey Julian good to hear you but you do know that you got off very lightly on Hilly Fields parkrun

Another time I jibbed out of this "parkrun" was the second run on a new year's day - my neighbour Neil went off to Hilly Fields for his second parkrun - while I opted for the more sensible (ie vaguely horizontal) Southwark one.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that his Hilly Fields adventure had given him a massive heart attack and he then spent most of the next month in hospital.

The story does have a happy ending though.

Before his trip to hospital I used to be quicker than him, but now thanks to re-plumbing work around his heart plus various performance enhancing drugs he now has access to (and ok also my foolhardy decision to end the Hell of the Ashdown headfirst) he finishes almost a lap ahead.

Trust the fake tan is in full-on mode in Argie summer?

My ears had been itching a lot recently and now I know why... Living in Argieland although is not easy, it is still far from being buried alive.

Just make sure that EVERYONE has Windrush Tri as their club registered with parkrun. We lost the 2016 mob match  because of this when we actually had managed to drag enough people to finish first.

One more thing, even if Tony says that he will go to Hilly Fields, do not believe it. You will find yourself on your own on a freezing Saturday morning as I did...

My love to all!!! (while topping up my "fake tan")

I will put the dates in my diary as tentatively yes. Haven’t done parkrun since 2015!
