I am just adding some massive enthusiasm to our excellent run captain's PARKRUN* MOB MATCH on the 17th.

It's free, it's full of people you like, it's very close and it's a parkrun you probably have not done

We want you there

You want to be there

See you there. Come on clubmates....#windrushfamily

I will be driving back from Wimbledon quite sharpish after the end to the lido (gold cap week...) so can take 4 back that way!

Cheers,

Stefan

Hmm tempting, is anyone doing ParkRun and then heading to Brockwell for a coldwater dip?

Haha! The thought had crossed my mind!

Hope you have made sure Coco has registered and reminded Coco to put down Windrush as their club?

I will have coco with me so won’t be cycling - will grab the train, in case anyone wants to join me! Or maybe I will drive if anyone know what the parking situation is like?

Hey guys, I am a newbie! Do you do this every week?

Thanks,

Emily

Hi Emily,

Welcome to the club, you've picked a good'un :)

The mob match series is a league of just three parkruns, about once a month - you can find more details and future dates/venues here.  Our regular parkrun is Brockwell Park - you can register your attendance via the events section to the right or just turn up - but if you're new to parkrun make sure you've registered with them and have got your barcode with you!

Ah I see - thanks so much! :)

Results are published from Saturday. 20 intrepid Windrushers with 44 legs (riddle me that!) made their way to Wimbledon for the first match in the series.

We had great fun meeting some of our frivals from CPT, Ful-On, Kingfisher, Renegade and Westcroft. there's a lovely photo on our Instagram of the 70-odd runners with our flags.

Westcroft head into fixture 2 with a four point lead, so we need to get at least as many out on March 17th as we did last week. the next one is Hilly Fields so again an easy 30 min cycle away.

We do lead on the minor trophy for four-to-score but again it's very close.

And, leading the way for the Julian Garcia Memorial Trophy [the average of your best 2 WAVA results to count] is your very own Run Captain with 72.67%.

Some runners aren't in the official results as they hadn't amended their clubs but I'm a kind man so took a team sheet as evidence from the other Captains.

Hey well done Lloyd!

Am working on recruiting (age advantaged) talent to challenge you for the Julian Garcia (Memorial) Cup

You cannot believe (and nor will Julian believe) that I will actually be sunning myself in Nigeria - while you lot (together with any pet dogs) get to ascend the mountain range that is Hilly Fields parkrun

But I will be thinking of you :-)

Bumping this up by way of reminder. The next fixture is Saturday week 17th March in Hilly Fields.

We need another strong team out and I need someone to keep me honest for the Julian Garcia trophy (average score over best 2 to count remember)...

Unfortunately I will be out of the country for this but someone sent a photo from the last time we did this “parkrun”

Emily hi, reminding you about the next fixture this Saturday. are you up for it?

I will be driving over there and have space for 4 more. Can collect from the lido at 8:20ish. Will then head back to the lido for a post run swim!

Yes please!
