I've mentioned this a few times and it's now time to enter our teams.

For anyone who hasn't previously spotted the post, this is a great fun, super-relaxed annual event.

It's a 3*2.6m relay round Beckenham place park starting and finishing at the Mansion House at the top of that "tiny" hill.

If you've not done a relay before, there's nothing builds more team spirit in running than not only going your hardest for yourself but even more so for your other mates in your team and then encouraging them round their leg.

The race attracts teams from all over the South East so at the sharp end even our fastest runners will be dragged to new speeds, where at the more relaxed end of the field it's a great social affair.

You'll see that even the most competitive teams give themselves fun names [last year's 3rd overall were the "Bermondsey Bad Boys" for instance!

Followed by drinks and food in their excellent clubhouse on Foxgrove Road.

The event always sells out fast so I want to get our teams entered before the end of April.

cost per team is £15. I'll do the entry forms and so forth, what we need is firm commitment to coming so we can then work out who best to run with who. If you and 2 mates definitely want to run as a team just let me know and that's easy.

Missed this post! I'm in!!

I have entered 4 Teams with the following runners:

Alex Green, Ben Hudson, Hugh Stobart

Me, Sara Roberts, David Synott

Nick Rao, Rosie Lang, Mikel Xtopi

Jake Pollard, Sarah Rounding, tbc (Andrew Bowmer in pencil)

Great work. Thank you. Will turn up on time for this one ;). Come on Andrew, come join the best team!!!

Andrew! Andrew! Andrew! Andrew! Andrew! Andrew!

David! David! David! David! David! David!

OK guys, peer pressure wins the day, I'm in!  Looking forward :o)

All, a quick summary of a brilliant night's racing.

The standard at the sharp end is truly phenomenal with the likes of Tonbridge AC and Kent AC (the region's strongest Athletic Clubs) competing for the overall win.

with 14 intrepid Windrushers present [2 to support and cheer] the field was full of Black and Gold throughout.

Everyone said afterwards how hard they'd pushed themselves knowing that their 2 team-mates were relying on them. what a way to build team spirit.

And, again, we brought home a trophy. the course is a testing 2.6m (4.2k) with a horrible hill to finish.

Putting our 3 fastest runners into the A team, Alex lead us out brilliantly with a scary 14:33, handed over to Becky 16:07 (running one of the fastest ladies' legs on the day), who then passed to Ben who stormed an absolutely phenomenal 13:58 (top 10 in the men's legs), to finish 14th overall and first mixed team.

Our second team (myself, Sara and Ryan) ran a strong set of legs to finish P36

Third were Nick, Rosie & Mikel to finish in 49th. Mikel we need to see more of you with those legs - what a run!

and, keeping them honest throughout to finish in P58 were Jake, Sarah & Adrien.

everyone immediately asked "when's the next one". so I will post them as there are 3 in June /July in Battersea, Dulwich and Crystal Palace.
