I know it seems madly early to be thinking about an early spring training camp in Lanzarote, but Club la Santa gets booked up earlier each year so we have to act now. I have reserved seven one-bed apartments at CLS with three people per apartment for Sat Feb 23 to Sun March 3 (eight nights) as today is the last day of the discounted early-bird rate of £1,157 per apartment. This means the cost of accommodation and access to nearly all of la Santa's sporting facilites will cost just £385.66 per head, excluding flights and meals, and there are twenty one places available.

If you would like to come for this self-coached training camp, please PM me to let me know and include your phone number and email address. You will need to pay a £100 deposit now as I will need to forward all deposits to CLS by the end of July. The balance will be due 2-3 months before departure.

It is hard to remember how grim the Beast from the East was in Feb/March this year as we bask in a heat wave, but Lanza was definitely better than staying home!

There is usually an alternative club training camp in Mallorca later in the spring with Tri Camp that is more structured and has coaching. This is better suited to people new to the sport or who want to get personal coaching during their tri camp.

Ten places filled by Sat morning, so let me know soonest if you are interested in coming. If you are keen but not certain, you can pay the deposit and if you have to drop out later, there will almost certainly be another Windrusher who will want to take your place.

Hi Charles, I'm keen. I'll PM you my details etc. when we're friends :-)

Hi , are there still places available? If so do you know how expensive it would be to get to CLS myself? I'm on a course the first weekend so would need to come out after that.

I'm the same - busy the first weekend but keen to come after that...

Hi Lucy and Emily,

everyone organises their own flights on Easyjet or whatever. We try to go/return as a group so we can organise a transfer to/from la Santa but if you arrive on a different flight, you can get a taxi for around 40 euros or call CLS to see if they are organsing a transfer for another group and see if you can tag along.

There are eleven interested in going and most of these have paid their deposits, so there are ten places left at the moment. I will do a post later explaining the self-organised tri camp better for those not familiar with it. We need to fill the available places in the seven apartments by the end of July or I will have to let some of them go.

Hope you can both make it!

Thanks Charles. Sounds like we should join up on flights Emily, I'll confirm my plans after the weekend....

Charles I’m keen too - I just need to check dates with work and currently in Lake District - will confirm tomorrow!

I'm in too - sounds brilliant. Transferring cash this eve.

Thanks Nicola.

There are now six places left on the Feb/March la Santa tri camp.

Just paid (ref: lanza-rosielang)

Thanks Rosie.

So far we have 18 people on the list, with Joe, Lucy, Emily and Paul W yet to pay their deposits (please let me know when you've made a final decision and paid the deposit).

Assuming all the above do actually sign up, there are three places left for any other Windrushers interested in the Feb 23- March 3 2019 Lanzarote training camp.

I know it’s a long time from now but I’m looking at booking flights (too excited!). I’m planning on flying in with BA (leave Gatwick on Saturday at 14:35, arrive at 18:55), and return with Easy jet on Sunday 3rd March at 12:40. BA is currently cheaper than easy jet on Saturday 23rd and it means I don’t need to get up at 4am to be in the airport... let me know if anyone else is planning flights already
