We are running again a bike maintenance course, no, TWO courses, with our brilliant partners at Balfe’s Bikes in Streatham. Here you can learn from the experts all your bike maintenance queries and tricks from the trade.

The first course is aimed at the more entry level queries and the second if you’ve got beyond the basic road side repair level.

Balfe’s has asked us to let them know what you would like to learn at which dates, so please just post them on the forum.

The courses are FREE

or nearly. Richard is running the London Marathon again for the bike charity the London Cycling Campaign, who has been instrumental in making London’s roads safer for pedestrians and cyclists.

A collection bucket will be available on the shop floor, so please donate generously for this fantastic offer!

You can sign up here:

Beginners Bike Maintenance 10th Oct
Intermediate Bike Maintenance 17th Oct
Beginners Bike Maintenance 7th Nov
Intermediate Bike Maintenance14th Nov

Places are restricted to 10 people and both workshops are 7-9pm

Awesome, thank you very much.

I'd definitely like to do these - thanks Gesine! How do we sign up? Or is just posted here enough?

Lisa

This sounds like something I need to attend too. Thanks for organising

Heya All,

Signups to the event have now been posted on MyClubhouse and links are in the above post.

Hi Gesine, thanks for arranging. I'm keen for the second course and would be interested in going over the following two points if possible:

- Tightening those pesky Canyon integrated headsets. They a pain in the backside to re-tighten after you've needed to take the bar off when travelling with the bike.

-  When changing between different wheels, making the relevant gear adjustments. Di2 in my case.

Thanks!
Colin

Extra dates now added

Thank you Gesine. I would be interested in covering brake and gear adjustments on Wednesday if possible

Hi Gesine, I'd be interested in looking at adjustments to brakes, cleaning properly in and around chains etc and disc brakes maintenance, changing pedals and brake pads (for my commuter bike).

Thank you!

Hello there
Do we need to bring our own bike for the session this evening?
Cheers
Frank

Just saw the note from Cat in the Whatsapp group from the previous training, so no need to bring our own bike

Great course last night - thanks to all those who organised this.

And for those looking, the donation link is https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/richardbalfe

Hi, thanks to everyone that came last night and last week.

We are looking forward to the 7th and 14th November. If anyone has any specific things they would like to learn about just message me and we’ll accomodate. If the courses fill up we are happy to do something monthly too, turns out it is quite good fun and a good excuse to eat biscuits if nothing else!

If you do come along the courses are free but donations in aid of me running the London Marathon for the LCC are very welcome.

Thanks all, Richard.

Hi Richard & Ben, thanks for a great session on Wednesday evening.  Looking forward to trying out my new skills!
