Sunday 28th June should have been a glorious day at Brockwell Lido for the club's Aquathlon. Many of us will be volunteering to ensure another fantastic event and a few lucky members racing alongside other athletes. Unfortunately, as we're all too aware this is not possible due to the current circumstance.

However, we are all able to take part in the Windrush Virtual Aquathlon.

What is this? I hear you ask...

Alongside the ViS competition, you can log your Aquathlon efforts between Sunday 28th June and Sunday 12th July. This competition closes on the 12th. Your 5k and 10k runs will also count on the ViS Running comp as normal.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IMxbQsCXJ4xp2dnmKp7kneNwvF4...;

Points are awarded based on sprint and Olympic distances completed within a 6-hour period.

Sprint - Swim 750m, Run 5km = 10pts

Olympic - Swim 1,500m, Run 10km = 20pts

When combined with a transition of less than 10minutes (brick activity) then bonus 5pts awarded for either distance.

It is possible to run straight out of the swim at a number of OWS centres.

The winner will not only be crowned in glory but will also be immortalised at next year's live Aquathlon event (when it happens!) full details to be announced.

As always, follow the current government regulations of your country in regards to Covid with social distancing rules and only if you're well enough to partake. If/when swimming indoors rules change and we can use pools again then this will be permitted, no limited to OWS.

Any questions just ask.
