Ironman Western Australia swim cancelled due to shark! Plus Kona Qualification Times

http://www.watoday.com.au/wa-news/absolute-chaos-busselton-ironman-...

Interestingly, the same thing happened in May at the 70.3 but the lifeguards were able to shoo away the shark and the race still went ahead after an hour delay!

Ps. I have done this event twice and it is a great race and Busselton is an amazing part of the world. Just make sure you swim mid-pack or you might end up as breakfast.

For those interested, I have attached a file with the Kona Qualification times for the event based on age group (note: the times are for cycle and run only).

Well if that doesn't make people swim faster I don't know what would.

Yep Nick seemed to pick up his Swim pace in Mexico - knowing the saltwater Crocodiles lay in wait - and Charles B did a very good time in the Arctic with the Polar Bears and 500 year old Greenland sharks for company.

Not sure 10,000 jellyfish in Loch Torridon are much help on the Celtman swim.

Any news on wildlife at this Bosphorus Swim?

Wildlife doping for a new swim PB!

They captured some footage of (possibly the same) shark a few days later down the coast a bit. Check it out:

The boat that it is circling is 8.5 metres long!
