Hey Everyone!

Exciting news! The Windrush Aquathlon has officially launched. This is the race that brings people from all over London to the best lido and Park it has to offer. As an adult  club member there are two ways you can race...

The first is as a Windrush Newbie - we will be offer new to club members (2018) the chance to sign up, places are limited so get your name of the list and we will pull names from the hat (gold swim cap).

The second is representing the club via the London League - this means we're after fast our 6 (3 men and 3 women) swimmers and racers. More will follow on this shortly.

The race is open to all Juniors, so if you have kids why not sign them up instead?

Don't worry if you can't race you can join in on the fun as a volunteer. Like all previous races we will be asking the Windrush family to volunteer their time on the day - either as run marshals, at the pool side or helping the racers across the finish line.

So put that date in your calendar now!

Thanks,

Rory

Hi Rory,

what counts as a new member? I joined last year just a couple of weeks before the race and wen places were all gone, would I be considered for a newbie name in the swim cap?

We've set up the Aquathlon as a facebook event, so please help us spread the word by registering yourself as going/interested or share on your feed!!

Hey, just to check are we supposed to enter the race or not enter so that we can help marshall and run it? I'm happy to do either...

Hi Rosie,

We're hoping to get as many Windrushers as possible to help out on the day and so we are requesting members don't enter - but we do have a specific number of places available for new or fastest members - there'll be more info on this shortly.  Sorry if I confused matters by posting about the facebook event - it's just to get the event news spread as widely as possible!

Hi James,

We're just agreeing conditions around the newbies and fastest member places but will confirm details on the forum shortly.

Thanks

I'm in extensive swim training already to try and qualify for the team and improve on last year's time.

Forgetting my tri-belt and having to struggle in T1 with some safety pins didn't help...
