Eastbourne Aquathlon - Sunday 13th September
The Eastbourne Aquathlon will consist of a sea swim against the backdrop of Eastbourne pier, followed by a run along Eastbourne’s historic promenade. There will be various TriStar races ranging from TriStart (age 8) up to Youth (age 15-16). Following the children’s races, it will be the turn of the adults with two distances to choose from; a sprint distance (750m swim and 5km run) and a standard distance (1,500m swim and 10km run). There will also be relay options over the sprint and standard distances as well as a 1,500m swim only race.

The sprint distance aquathlon is an ideal introduction to multisport racing for novices. For those hoping to gain a GB age-group team qualification at Eastbourne Triathlon next year (or racing in the South East Senior Series), the standard distance race is a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with the swim and run routes in race conditions, both of which will be similar to the routes used for the triathlon.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, places will be limited, and entries will be taken in advance only. For more information and to enter please visit www.eastbournetriathlon.co.uk/aquathlon

Eastbourne Duathlon - Sunday 11th October
Don’t fancy swimming? The duathlon in October is perfect for those who prefer cycling. The race starts on Eastbourne promenade with a 5km run. After the run, participants will ride the challenging 19km bike route via Beachy Head and Birling Gap. The race ends with a 2.5km run finishing at Eastbourne’s Helen Gardens.

As with the aquathlon, places will be limited, and entries will be taken in advance only. For more information and to enter please visit www.eastbourneduathlon.co.uk

Both events will be permitted by the British Triathlon Federation following strict social distancing and hygiene guidelines. Races will start with a rolling ‘time-trial’ format, with faster competitors starting first to minimise overtaking.
