Can anyone recommend a lightweight running rucksack that only needs to hold a few small things for a run commute (I will leave my work clothes at work!)?

Hi Laura

I run with a small Camelbak. I bought it when I was marathon training and wanted to take more water out with me, but if you take the bladder out it's quite a good size for a commute. It aslo has quite a few pockets so you can separate things out to stop them knocking together while you're running. There's no waist strap as such but I tie the ends of the adjustable straps around my waist which has the same effect.

looks good

Thru trial and error i've learned from my run to work that the most imortant thing for me is to have the elasticated mesh pockets at the side. Just makes it easy to slip the keys in after locking the door without having to take rucksuc off and rearrange headphones etc

I use a tiny Deuter one - think it was slightly cheaper than this one

+ one for the camelbak as the bladder can also come in handy for long runs and rides where water is an issue. Also very tough and well put together
Same here.. I use the camelback

Hi Laura

I bought one of these Innov8 lightweight bags which I think is brill. It does not have a frame but will take a bladder for longer runs and has a mesh pocket on the waist and a 'waterproof' pocket on the other side of the waist band. I love mine.

They are a British company too and cheap !!

Yes the inov8 bags are the best I've ran with. It's like running with out a bag at all.

Thanks all.  There is so much choice!!

Looks like a toss up between the Innov8 and the Camelback....

OK, I have ordered the Inov-8.  I will see if it suits me, otherwise I will send it back and try another.  Thanks all for your comments, very helpful indeed!  Living in Suburbiton means I'm going to have to be more innovative with my training now!

The Inov-8 race Elite arrived today from Wiggle.  It seems like I am almost too small for it, as with the shoulder and waist straps on the tightest setting it is still loose, and the shoulder straps seem to hit the sides of my neck!  It is VERY light and well made though.  WIll try a test run soon!!

Hey There,

I found this one: https://www.decathlon.co.uk/bag-trail-running-10l-id_8489273.html

It is quite cheap does anyone have experience with that?

thanks

Fran
