I am planning to ride to Brighton this Saturday, have lunch on the beach and ride back again in case anyone wants to join. Will be leaving the lido at 8am, circa four hours each way.

Looking strong Mr Barclay

Could do, as you say we go right past Weir Wood Reservoir, but it would then involve carrying swimming stuff with us and would make it a very long day for those riding back from Brighton to London. Also, peleton needs to conserve energy for hors Categorie climb le Col de Ditchling!

Mr Barclay, Mr Foton, Mr Flower.

Last one to get to Brighton Pier gets the Ice Creams in ( Probably me :-) )

See you at 8:00am

Ditchling bring it on ( why have a just said that its a monster of a Hill.)

See you soon

I'd like to come along. 4 hours each way, is that around 15 mph average?

Yes, that is about right. We will go at a steady pace and there are bail out options at Brighton, Haywards Heath and Redhill if you want to take the train back.

Hi Charles, sounds good I am keen to join you. See you at the lido.

I'm doing The Tour de France Challenge on Strava. This will be a good way to add a few km.

See you at 8

Hi sorry I'm not able to make it any more. Hope you see this in time. Have a good ride, Nick
Great ride guys... particularly the drinks at the end. Malcom, you turned to early going back home

Thanks for leading the ride Charles!! Great weather, route, company and fun what more do you need on a Saturday morning, apart from a good hangover cure.

Yes thanks very much, Charles. Epic ride. Scenic and direct in perfect measure!

Great riding with you all, I think we had the best day of the weekend. Glad Windrush post-ride drinking regime not as excessive as Brixton Cycles (ie re-hydrate with six pints in quick succession). Here is the pic taken on Brighton beach.

Iain, hope you got back ok with your solo return ride from the top of Ditchling.

I did, although famous last words saying I knew the way back. Took a couple of wrong turns on a whim and ended up on the Hever castle route and got the train from East Grinstead. Managed the 100 miles though. Will have lunch in Brighton next time.
