Can you help refugees and other vulnerable young people get into running?

Hi Windies,

I do some work with a charity that supports refugees in south London, and we were approached by The Running Charity (http://www.therunningcharity.org), which works with vulnerable young people to help them get into running to improve their physical and mental health. They're interested in pairing young people up with running mentors who go out with them for a run one on one and help them keep their goals and build their confidence and fitness.

If anyone would like to give this a go, I know the charity would greatly appreciate it. Especially if you live in Streatham or further out towards Croydon, where they're having trouble recruiting mentors. Mentors get training on safeguarding and working with hard to reach young people, as well as DBS checks before starting to work with the young people. All you have to do to qualify is be a keen runner!

If you have questions let me know - I can contact them for you to put you in touch or you can go right ahead and get in touch through their website :)

Cheers!

Helen
