Our ever popular swim course is running again, this time this course is focussed specifically on beginners. It will be taught by our amazing swim coach Emily Robinson.
The 7 week course will run weekly on Fridays from Friday 2 Mar- 20 April (no session Easter Friday 30/03) at JAGS (Red Post Hill, Dulwich, London SE24 9JN) from 8.15-9.15 pm.
You will need to pay in advance for the full course and places are not transferable (i.e. if you can't attend one of the nights you can't sell your place to someone else because the course will build on what you have learnt in previous weeks).
The course will cost £70 per person (that's a bargain price of a tenner per session, including pool entry) and for the course to go ahead we need at least 12 people to sign up, up to a max of 16 people. For details of the course, see below.
To reserve your place sign up at here.
We will start taking payment once enough people have signed up below so please ensure you definitely want to do the course before signing up. Places will be allocated on first come, first served, with any above 16 forming the waiting list.
Payment won't be taken until we have enough people signed up. Once we have at least 12 people signed up we'll be asking for payment straight away so keep an eye on your email to secure your place. Those who don’t pay by the deadline may risk having their places reallocated.
More on the course:
This version of the course is aimed at beginner swimmers, you must be able to swim at least 100m unaided, but may struggle to swim much further without taking a break, might be nervous about swimming or just want to grow your swimming by starting from the basics.
(If you think you’re beyond beginner level, you’re still welcome to join the course, so long as you are aware that the focus is on beginners).
The sessions will focus on the following:
- Breathing (eg head position, rotation)
- Streamline (eg body position, kicking)
- Co-ordination (eg core)
- Stroke Development (eg hand entry, catch, pull and push)
- Speed Development (eg better technique = faster speeds, pacing)
