Beckenham Running Club: Charity Trail Race (10k)

A great race and a firm favourite of the Windrush Calendar!

Its 10Km and a traffic-free multi-terrain course of two laps around Beckenham Place Park on footpaths through woods and grass fields. With water station on route and cake at the end (showers also) its the perfect Sunday activity!

Looks like we have a great team of 14 heading to Beckenham on Sunday which is great!! Whoop! Judging by the wet weather trail shoes and change of clothes would be recommended - they have changing facilities with showers onsite so embrace the mud! 

Cake and prizes for the first team...sounds like an event you can't miss out on!

You need to get to the Race HQ in Beckenham Cricket Club (BR3 5AS) to collect your number between 9.30 and 10.30am - the start is about 1k from the clubhouse which gives a chance to "warm" up.

The park is very, very muddy at the moment according to my spy - so if you have any shoes with some sort of pimples on the bottom I would use them. 

There better be some cakes left or I will cry.

You will need to pick up your race numbers at the cricket club here before 10.30

For those travelling from Herne Hill via foot there is a train at 9.34 to Beckenham Junction which takes 11 minutes (plenty of time to warm up prior to the race)

I can't make it due to being on a course (gutted!) so can't try and win the booze prizes...but can't wait to hear about it at the AGM on Monday (with hopefully some team wins....)

They're not officially Windrush but my brother and maybe my Dad will also be joining us. Great to hear mud is forecast on the day... will make up for the lack of dirt on our last, beautifully sunny, XC run! 

Rubbish you can't come along Becky, I'll eat your share of cake for you ;-)

Good to hear you have taken the initiative in bringing extra family members along....hope you warned them this is a real mud bath with some errr entertaining hills - or you might be in for some pretty basic slippers and a hideous jumper on Christmas Day.

Also it is not allowed to eat more than one slice of cake until all Windrush runners/joggers have had the opportunity to choose from the full selection on offer :-)
